I agree. I asked a question regarding something along these lines...and I was expecting a good argument....this is the kind of crap I got instead -
"Becuase we have the true and living God.The one and only God that actually answers."
Amazing.

You may think it is a fairy tale but to us it is very real. Faith is believing and believing by the word of God. We have faith without seeing. That is pretty bizarre, I know, but that is how we base our belief. FAITH. It takes a lot of guts to put your hope and trust in something you can't see. It is a no brainer to only believe what you can see. Also, the bible speaks to each person differently. You may read a scripture and get something different than I do. It doesn't mean one is right or wrong. So much of the bible and Christianity is mystery and conjecture. We can't ask the original writers what they were thinking when they wrote it. Maybe we are inconsistant because everyone interrprets the bible differently.

It probably has something to do with there being a lot of people that want to have their own group of people as their followers. I think a lot of preachers come up with their own twists on the scriptures just so they can attract more people to follow them. If all the preachers were saying the same thing then they wouldn't have any reason to tell people that they should follow him instead of some other preacher.
To make themselves stand out they have to come up with something new and different.
There are a lot of separate christian groups that make a big fuss about picayune details that reasonable people would just shrug off. It seems that their leaders just play up silly differences to keep a hold on their followers and make themselves more famous and/or influential.

Kid - Have you read the gospels-Matthew, Mark, Luke and John? All four gospels portray a different picture of Christ, yet everything said about Christ was true. It was just different perspectives. The ability to see things in a different view are not inconcistencies but rather a great, limitless God. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things as we stay in the Word of God. What the Holy Spirit wants for me can be entirely different from what the Holy Spirit wants for you.
His laws are absolutes even though some Christians as well as all the other religions including atheism want to disobey. If it is not profitable for us, we want to change God's laws, but God's laws can't be changed. God doesn't change either.

What you're describing is not true Christianity. It's religion. The difference is that Christianity is based upon a body of people that follow a specific pattern of interpretation of the Word of God and religion is nothing more than MAN'S view of God and His Word based of self-justification and individual morality.

Different people have different beliefs this comes from different denominations and different interpretations. Everyone has the main points down though- God sent his only son to die for the sins of the world. I think that every belief has inconcistencies...just try to get a straight answer on evolution. I grew up an atheist so please don't try and tell me that atheists have all the answers and they are all the same. I have seen God work- which is why I became a Christian. I don't need you to like Christianity in order for me to believe in God.

The same goes with Evolution, or chaos theory, Get it straight, how about dating of artifacts on archaeological digs, those can vary scientist to scientist by thousands of years. It would be so wonderful if everyone had a uniform belief system or better yet none at all is your point? Yes there are inconsistencies because there are differ net beliefs the same reason Dawkins and Behe and microbiologists and zooologists disagree on points of evolution they have different views. Deal with it.

To proclaim that God is love and encourage people to love God and love your neighbor even if they are your enemy sounds just like the stuff in the bible and contradicts nothing except the fundamentalist that have morphed Jesus into Mars the god of war. They believe Jesus is coming to judge and destroy just like the Pharisees did in the time of Jesus. They missed the love part.
