Isn't it how funny...that the majority of the Christians in here feel as though they are the "chosen ones"; when in reality, the Christian religion is basically one of the newest? There have been many, many religions to emerge since the very start....and yet, they are "false". If anything...wouldn't the Christian belief be thought as "false", since they came so much later? What makes you feel so confident in talking down to others, when you have virtually no proof and no decent argument. The oldest religion (including scriptures) is Hinduism, there were also - Pagans, Jews, Atheists, Egyptian Gods, etc etc. How can you tell these people who came before you, they are all wrong?

Loving the insults - are you so threatened by my accusation? If anything shouldn't you be trying to back up your belief?

I'm not saying the older the better, what I'm saying is - What makes you think your (Christian) belief is 100% correct, when there were others before you, others after you - and have beliefs that are non threatening, but inspirational. How can you say if I don't believe in your God - I go to hell?

You name off quite impressive lists of gods. Did you know that the apostle did basically the same thing you just did? While in Anthems and addressing the "elite" of the day, He committed on the many altars, shrines and holy places throughout out the city. He even mention that he saw an altar to the "unknown god” that was the God that Paul came to preach about. He stated that in the days of old, God had overlooked mankind’s ignorance in worshiping false gods, but that, that time was over. God had made himself know to all, and it was now time to choose which side to be on. To accept Christ and chose life or to live in darkness and choose death. The many gods you named with their worshipers are gone, dead, they never existed. I do not look "down" on anybody. I believe what I believe. I base my belief on what I have seen God do in my life as well as the lives of those around me. I see a God who asked for nothing other than our love in return for all he has giving, No other god does this. If it is god, then why would it want anything else from us? I see a God who claims that he made each and everyone of us, and he wants up to care for each other, to help tend to the needs of each other, to give to those who need. No other God asks for us to care for anyone but ourselves. I can’t make you believe, that is up to you, but there is no comparison of the One God, and the imitations.

-Actually it is Human nature.A person always thinks he is right, his religion is the best.
-In a way it also reflects many things about that particular religion. If christians say " those who donot belive in jesus will go to hell" -- it shows how much intolerant & confused religious teachings r present.
-I would say , the newer man-made religions like christianity n islam r more intolerant & teach hatred.
- I don't think that jesus might have really taught things like - Our God is only true one , I am the only son of God, etc ---- these phrases seem to b the work of a fool.( like hitler used to say)
-Older religions like Hinduism r more tolerant & peaceful - ever heard of crusaders or terrorists or racial abusers in these older religions? No.
- i think church is to b blamed for all this religious intolerance- It is likely that they might hav modified the teachings of jesus for their grred for power.
- I heard some where that from the age of 14 - 26 yrs (not mentioned in bible) , jesus lived and attained most of his religious enlightment in India. Jesus was a Jew and presently in India there is a lesser-known Jew group ( somewhere in south india). it is very likely that church modified his teachings to get in to power. To rule in the name of jesus.

I tell people that God is Love which just happens to be in the Bible.
If you Love it doesn't matter what you think God is, you can't love without God in your life.
Love, Live, and be Happy.
Love is all you need.
I hang out with Pagans because they aren't judgmental and many love people deeply and with conviction. I like Buddhist also, and anyone else brave enough to love. I don't like judgmental people of any kind. They have no love.

The oldest religion is Noah's belief in God which he brought through the flood. It is Noah's grandson Nimrod that began these rebellious religions against God. God wanted a people for Himself and therefore we have the Jewish Old Testament which is the New Testament concealed. The New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.
The fallen angels always leave their abode and manipulate their way into the lives of men and women.

There are few types of Christians, humble ones and the ones that still awaiting for a new Crusade....
But most of them follow first and second commandment as they were told to....
Despite my urge to kick her, I must agree with LadyG... Christ can be a light and the Church can be an old dirty window that interprets and deforms the real deal... Christ's teachings about love are true and clean

By their fruits you will know them is what Jesus said. The Bible contains fulfilled prophesy as well as prophesy that is currently being fulfilled, no other work can claim that, proving the Bible is the inspired word of God, and in God's word, it explains that true Christianity is the way to God through his Son, Christ Jesus. Jesus said; I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me. That says it all. I'm sorry that there are so many who don't believe but your choosing your own course and that is your right.

I love it. Actually, if you take an objective approach others don't believe what we believe as much as we don't believe what they believe.
It's very interesting and you bring up a good point.
As far as Jews go they are still waiting on their Messiah.
You're right, it boils down to faith but that should humble us more than make us proud.

Well, I don't see us putting anyone down that much. but your argument has little to do with reality, as it relates to Christianity. Even those religions you speak of believe that Jesus lived and died as told in the Bible, as do the Muslims.
The only question is was Jesus the son of God or not. We believe he was, and we do not force anyone to believe that but we do, if asked, tell about that belief. And the over-whelming evidence that supports it.

Fortunately, they are all dead and don't have to listen to what we say and we can't tell them they were wrong.
Of course, why would they believe us anyway? Maybe because their old belief system died out without god whimpering?
