I'm looking for something that can sit in the fridge overnight, doesn't involve alcohol, and is a step up from powdered lemonade mix. Thanks!

Make either fresh lemonade, limeade, or a mixture of those 2 with another fruit (ie. lemons + strawberry/raspberry/etc). Teas/fruit teas are also refreshing. Just be sure to pack lots of ice!

I think sun-tea would be great. Just get a big tea jug, put about 8-10 tea bags in it, and let it steep in the sun. When it's as dark as you like it, just bring it in and put it in the fridge. Add sugar to taste.

Another idea is an "Arnold Palmer". That's half iced tea, half lemonade. In this case, you probably don't need to add sugar to the tea. This is one of my favorite drinks :) You could also add a little Sprite to it right before you serve it to add a little fizz.

If you're watching calories, you could buy some seltzer water and bring various citrus fruits like lime, lemon, orange, and grapefruit. Slice them into wedges and let everyone choose which flavor to add to their cold seltzer. Serve with ice, and it's a very refreshing, healthy drink.

There's always Kool-Aid, which kids seem to love (probably has something to do with all the sugar!!). You could fancy it up a bit by adding various fruits to it.

Another idea is to consider what ice cubes you might use. You could make some ahead of time using juice, kool-aid, lemonade, etc. That way, whenever your ice starts to melt, it doesn't dilute your drink, and instead, adds more flavor.

Have fun on the Picnic :)

Stick a carton of sherbert in a punch bowl or pitcher, pour in a 2 litre bottle of lemon lime soda and stir. Instant fizzy punch.
