Ok, I live a pretty sad existence. I am OBSESSED with food. Really, all I ever think about is when my family will be out of the house and I can raid our pantry. I eat until I literally am in pain and then throw it up, every last bite. I do this at least twice, maybe three to eight times, every day. I don't want to be like this and I know it is harming my body. At first I started for the weight loss (at 5'6" I went from 118 to 96) but now I just want to stop.

I need help, I know, but I cannot possibly let anyone know this. What can I do that doesn't involve turning myself in to my parents or anyone else I know?

You already took the first step, which is being brave enough to come to a forum like this and tell us you need help. However, bulimia is a very involved eating disorder. Like anorexia nervosa, bulimia involves psychological as well as physical medicine to treat a patient. It is a long process to treat a bulimic successfully. Because of this, I think you need to let your parents know what's going on. Most bulimic patients get help, either in-patient or out-patient, from a hospital treatment program. Most of the time, it will start out as an in-patient procedure so the staff can monitor you and try to quell your food obsessions and desire to binge and purge. Once that gets under control, they release you back to your home, and you continue regular sessions with a psychologist. You must tell your parents, though.

If telling your parents really just isn't an option, you'll need to just go cold turkey and somehow stop yourself from repeating this pattern. If you physically have to lock yourself in the room when your family's out to stop yourself from raiding the pantry, then do it. Just make sure you talk to a professional (school counselor, school psychologist, etc.) at the same time. They may tell your parents anyway, though, so I still say you need to tell them yourself and get some good treatment from a hospital program. Best of luck to you.

Well I am proud of you that you realize that you have a problem and that you need help but Sweetheart, you need to let others help you. Your parents will not love you any less because of your disease. This disease is not your fault. Your parents will just want to help you get better. I suggest that you talk to your parents and tell them that you need help. I would then look online for support groups and such or go to your family doctor or local hospital, they can point you in the right direction. It will also be good for you to be checked out by a doctor to make sure that you haven't done any permanent damage to your body. Don't be afraid to ask for help, that is the only way you'll be able to get better. Good luck and get better!

Yes. Get aid instantly. I grew to be bulimic whilst I used to be 12 and almost always went from side to side among anorexia and bulimia. I used to be hospitalized for bulimia the week earlier than my sixteenth birthday and spent my birthday within the clinic, neglected approximately a month of university. It destroys your insides. I virtually died. I realize it might consider like a well unencumber or a well kind of self-punishment, however should you relatively devour healthful and recreation you are going to consider SO well approximately your self and it is going to simply make you a happier individual I promise. I recognize formative years is HARD and you are most effective thirteen so I wish you to understand it is going to get tougher, however do what's proper to your frame and for your self and get aid.

yes honey im glad you realise you need help. puking will do terrible things to your health and rot your teeth. you will grow weak and get trapped in this fantasy food world you have created for yourself. get out while u can! thin may be in but skeletal is out! at least you realise you need help and that is the first step to getting it. The internet is a wonderful place for doing things on the DL so your peeps dont find out. there are countless support groups for ladies like yourself and it helps knowing that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Depending on how long you have been bulemic you may not be able to help yourself enough to completely stop. I'm in a similar situation and only YOU can decide if you need outside help. i'll be honest, its a habit just like quitting smoking. try this: puke for a day in a jar and keep it right next to the toilet. so everytime u have the urge to puke up your food u can SEE wut u r doing to yourself. cuz once u flush it its like it never happened. eventually others will take notice of your rotten breath, mood, and your bone-age. plus why are you doing this? what triggered this habit? you stated you want to stop - so just STOP. keep your mind busy with other things, go outside more, do physical activities. I've been trying to lose about 25 lbs since early 2005. I went from 150 (im 5'2) to about 137 now but I'm still not satisfied. I've tried every trick but your body needs balance and doing something unnatural like puking will only create another ailment to offset what you are doing to yourself. And your skinnier than MILLIONS of women! think of all the obese people out there that would kill to have your body! well maybe not at 97 lbs but more like 110-120 lbs ;) Good luck my friend you can and will do it just like other strong women before you :)

First of all, 118 pounds at 5'6 is an AWESOME weight to be at. You definitely didn't need to lose weight, and you could've even gained some.

2nd: I'm not a professional, but I think that you need to talk to someone. The first step is to admit you have a problem, and you have done that. Now you just need to make the steps to solve it, and talking to a professional is a VERY important one.

ok, i know what you feel like, i go through periods where i do that for about a week every now and then too, but the best way to over come it is to write out a plan to what you are going to eat for the day and when Ex.
9 am-breakfast: cereal and an apple
11am-snack:corrot sticks
12:30-lunch:soup and two slices of toast
etc.
and don't cheat! do that for as long as it takes. good luck.

First step, admit you can't do it alone, if you could, you would have by now. That's what it means to ask for help, it's admitting that you need someone else there.

If you talk to any professional, doctor, counsellor, legally whatever you tell them is private, they can't tell anyone. See a professional immediately before it's too late.

Rember, it's not jus about losing weight, bulimia is ultimately fatal, it's about losing your life.

It depends on how old you are i think. You should try to look up sources that will give you help. Like I've heard of people that went to the doctor and told their doctor what they do and you have to make sure to tell your doctor you don't want your parents to know....maybe this will help? goodluck and get better :)

omg i feel so bad for you! if u really don't want to tell your parents (even tho i recomend u do befor eits to late) i'd look on the internet for a hotline for people w/ eating disorders... it may help!
also i recomend starting to eat in small potions (not stuffin yourself) and making the portions bigger and bigger until u are healthy again....and no throwing up!
