Hi. I have been dealing with this disorder for quite awhile and even though i wouldnt admit it, i came up to realise that this is not normal.. and i would like to know what it is/ and what should i do about it.
Financially, i don't have the money to pay for a psychologist right now..
I always have this weird feeling of being hypher, like when i'm watching t.v and i switch it to the sports channel and see a basketball match, i'll suddenly have a brush of energy that will make me get up and play basketball ... it's like i have a feeling that i'm gonna be the best at that. it's really weird!!.. or sometimes i watch a pretty good movie, Like ali? or something.. then after the movie i'll have this fascination of being a boxer.. and might even think about boxing!.. and again, i'd have a feeling that i'd be really good if i did that, or if i did this etc!.. I'm easily influenced.. it's pretty weird..
And i can't sit still for a few minutes its always i gotta have to be doing something..

and for like a year now i have really been addicted to this computer thing.. i sit infront of the pc for about 8 hours a day.. and i barely get any sleep.. i always sleep in the morning and have troubles sleeping at night.. its like im filled with energy at night..
and i just came to notice that the more i stay on the computer, the more i shy away from social contact and etc!..
I get very conscious and think that people are gonna make fun of me or tihnk im stupid. ( i dont know why!! )
I had an addiction to caffeine, and would drink upto 5 to 6 cans of soda a day.. but i quit this for like 3 months now..
Now the addiction has switched to smoking cigarettes, i smoke about atleast a pack a day...
And, i have trouble paying attention to something. its like my mind is running all the time..
i can';t even sit in class for an hour straight, my mind switches so fast from racing cars, to boxing, you name it! im always motivated to do something.. its like i want to be good at so many diffe

I think part of it is being gemini.
And i also get anxiety attacks!!.. like sometimes if i see something on my hand like a bump, i start to think its cancer etc, or something and im gonna die...
or when im driving i have a feeling that i might get into an accident, weird **** like that!..
or i might get into a fight etc!! what is this!!>.
Sometimes i also spend money on pretty useless things that i dont even need...
And.. if i have some of my friends come over the house i always got a feeling that i need to impress them etc!.. It's like i crave attention.. and that's where the money spending comes in.. buying expensive clothes..
One last thing is ..
If i write an essay or something about something..
and you make me read it after a week, i'll think its pretty stupid and write a pretty different essay ..
What the hell is this? is it pretty severe? do i need treatment? do i need to take medication?

Even if you don't have enough money, there are community mental health resources that are available for free or for very low cost, plus Medicare /Medicaid. You should check those things out. I can't really find any particular diagnosis in what you have written, but I do think you should see a mental health professional.
Good luck,

You sound rather impulsive. Your life sounds undisciplined, as if you do not have goals that you are working toward bit by bit.
Therapists call having a plan, and working that daily plan "structure" in your life. Goal setting is a part of that structure.
Here is an exercise that may assist you.
Consider where you want to be 10 years from today.
What job, what relationships, children?, what kind of money will it take to support your dreams? How much will you want to have put away toward your retirement?(you're going to have to provide it without social security) Do you want to buy a car? a house? where do you want to live?
As you write down what you'd like your life to look like,
consider what it will take each of the 9 years to be able to meet those goals. Follow-up by writing yearly goals or accomplishments you hope to attain.
Next I suggest you make 2 appointments.
One with a psychologist (forgo the next set of fancy clothing)
and another appointment that is free... At the military recruiter's office.
They offer training, education, job security, housing, meals, health care, exercise, (including basketball) , travel, gaining experience that is useful in the job market. And, you'll have a chance to save money toward your future. With a little maturity thrown-in.
A man I know recently met his goals all in one year. Car, house, and wife, standard of income, and the home lifestyle he was seeking.
With that came a whole lot of respect from the relatives.

A very sick mama dog is an extremely stressful situation. And I understand your anger at some of the answers that you received. It is normal for you to want to vent back to these folks some of your anger and frustration. So, try to remain calm and keep your focus on your dog & pups. Don't let this cloud your true goal - a healthy dog. And yes, I would love to know this outcome. Kudos to you for your quick action in caring for 7 pups! It isn't easy! I wish that more people would realize that there are situations that stump even the best of vets. While the calicum issue is the most common with these symptoms, it is not the only cause. And your dedication to this dog and her pups is very, very admirable. So, you know that you are responding to this crisis in the best manner possible. You are doing all you can do in an extremely difficult situation. Let God sort out the rest. Peace

From what you are describing, there are a few possibilities. Being hyper, having reduced concentration, and being unable to sit still may be symptoms of either AD/HD or mania. Mania is indicative of Bipolar Disorder, but do bear in mind one does not have to be depressed in order to be diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder; you solely have to have a manic episode.
Regarding the panic attacks, Panic Disorder is very treatable with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). A list of CBT psychotherapists can be found at www.abct.org.
Your best bet at this time would be to see a psychologist. The above answer dismissing a psychologist in favor of your general practitioner (doctor) I would have to disagree with on one level, and agree on the other. You can see your doctor, but he would likely refer you to a psychologist due to the nature of your symptoms. Also, AD/HD is classified as a mental health, not medical, disorder, and as such a psychologist would be the individual who would be able to appropriately assess you. Hope this helps!

i like the first answer but I don't know if i would leave it at that. I would talk to my doctor and ask what he/she thinks . I know the first thing they will say if they read this .
switch back to the soda if you have to but PLEASE drop the smokes.. . you say you worry about cancer but i dont think you worry enough about it.
you may have A.D.D. or something like that and you need something to help you focus .
excercise is the best thing they have found for that, and it won't cost you a dime. watch some sports to get yourself into it then go out and play

lol! you totally sound like you might be bipolar! you practically described me as a teenager before I was diagnosed as manic-depressive or bipolar. yea hun, you should see a doctor, sorry to rain on your parade but you seem like you get mildly delusional after you are visually stimulated by something that interests you. you really should get it checked on. hope things work out for you. :)

I don't think you have a mental illness,I think you just have an addictive personality and you're vulnerable to addictions.
There are a lot of self help groups out there, all of them are free, you should check them out.
