Yes, it can and does. For example, we understand exactly how neurotransmitters can be blocked or excited by substances that are involved with such experiences. That's just one example.

I don't think scientifically understanding a mystical experience devalues it.

Well, science has explained countless things that were considered mystical many many years ago. I am certain that in time what we see as mystical today will be a laughingstock tomorrow

You'd have to be more specific. In lots of cases science can explain them.

Sometimes it's psychological, sometimes physical.

The famous white light for instance, can be explained by the experience of oxygen deprivation to the optical nerve. When that happens you see a white light.

Many - yes. Just that so many people don't listen. Example - I saw a video of what was calmed to be a squadron of UFOs. Well they were plainly condensation and this was made totally obvious because when the spaceship turned they all moved in sync with the movement of the ship. The commentator went on and on about proof of UFOs. - Yesss!

Sure it can. Science explained how zombie powder from Haiti works - its a drug that slows heart rate and breathing to near undetectible levels, making the "victim" appear dead - so they are buried. Then, when the drug wears off, the people awake, usually underground and receive brain damage from lack of oxygen. Being brain damaged, they are much easier to turn into slaves - which is what zombies are used for in Haiti.
