They are demanding that the amount be raised. Should it be raised or do you think it is a fair amount? What are your thoughts on this?

$20 a month is a joke!!! It is not even fair. It needs to be raisd by at least 10X to compensate them as they get older and need the money for health care. For all the suffering they went through, this is really sad.

That is a big SHAME!
After suffering the horrors of the holocaust these people should NEVER have to suffer again. And we should certainly make sure that in old age they are not in poverty.
We should spend less on illegal settlers and make sure that these people who have gone through so much, have decent living.

At #17, Tel Aviv is among the 50 most expensive cities to live in the world. It tops Middle East cities.
The fact is we do not serve our aging population to the extent they deserve in any of the modern cities.
While the Holocaust survivors are deserving of a special level of respect in the elder years, I don't know why it should be up to Israel alone to provide it. Perhaps, an international fund could be started. People from all over the world could contribute to a trust fund that, upon the death of the last Holocaust survivor, would fund Peace efforts to prevent another attrocity like this from occurring.

I have an idea. Why didnt we stop the other three powers at the end of WWII?
We should have cut Germany to two pieces one to become part of France, one to become part of Poland. That way, Germany gets erased off the map and can never start another war. That way Europe will be happy and everyone including the Jews.

of course it's not fair!!! they should definitely raise it!!!!
these people have suffered enough! and have been humiliated and now they are in their country! they should not be living like that!!!! those days are over!!!!
