Had my gall bladder taken out 3 years ago and still can't eat or drink anything with milk. My doctor also told me I have ibs, not fun,he finally put me on a medicine that works. Good luck in traking down what really causes it. I still have trouble with some foods so days and no trouble the next.

Alright, you are asking about Lactose intolerance, not lack toast.
Lactose is the sugar found in Cow's milk. Any surgery that is done on the GI tract can cause the body to become lactose intolerant. Sometimes it is temporary, but usually it's permanent.
There are pills that you can take to help your body digest the lactose, and you can drink other forms of milk like Silk! which is a Soy milk.

People who do not have enough lactase to digest the amount of lactose they consume may feel very uncomfortable when they digest milk products. Common symptoms, which range from mild to severe, include nausea, cramps, bloating, gas, and diarrhea. Symptoms begin about 30 minutes to 2 hours after eating or drinking foods containing lactose. The severity of symptoms depends on many factors, including the amount of lactose a person can tolerate and a person’s age, ethnicity, and digestion rate.

If you feel like you are lactose intolerant then you can get meds over the counter that help. Take the meds as directed before eating or drinking dairy. Gall bladder removal often is associated with diarrhea.

do yo mean lactose intolerant?
i don't know if it's directly from having your gall bladder removed. i had mine removed 18 years ago this October and I don't have that problem. If you only feel sick when you eat or drink milk products then you probably are lactose intolerant. try dairy products with lactaid in them or taking lactaid with regular dairy products. if you notice a difference, then you know that's what it is.

i've never heard of removing the gall bladder making one lactose intolerant. since the gall bladder helps digest fatty acids, it can make you more prone to diarrhea especially after eating fatty foods. it happened to me. i started taking fiber tablets daily and it seems to have helped some, but my doctor thinks it is never gonna go away completely and that i may have irritable bowel as well. so, fiber pills and foods high in fiber might help ya. good luck.

The word is LACTOSE, not LACK TOAST.
And your gallbladder has nothing to do with it.
Diarrhea is common after removing the gallbladder.
