or the Easter bunny or some other fairy tale rather that teach their children about the True Light.
In John 1 it is written that all children brought into this world have seen the True Light.

justme, Don't write that. You are not going to burn in hell. You have seen the true light when born into this world also. Sometimes some babies get abused though, & I think that teaching them fairy tales is possibly abusive also, then avoiding talking to children about God & Gods love.

Brenda, What about when your child finds out you were lieing to her? My sister told my niece that there was a santa clause, easter bunny, etc... When she was in grade school the other kids told her there wasn't a real santa clause. So, she confronted mom, "The kids tell me there isn't a santa clause. I say there is. Mom told me..." Mom tried to explain the truth. Then she yelled back, "Why? Then there is no santa clause & no easter bunny and no this & that. And the kids at school are right?!!!" very upset & embarrassed.

We do both in my family. My son knows we celebrate christmas for the birth of Jesus, and the presents santa brings (which are very few, and not expensive) are repesentive of the gifts given to the baby Jesus by the wisemen, and also repersentive of the gift that Christ gave to the world.

um, i don't know what you are asking. Do you mean God as the True Light? I wil teach my child about God and the Easter Bunny, and Santa Clause. it's what makes being a kid fun. Santa Clause is like the three kings bringing baby Jesus gifts. Telling your child about Jesus hanging, bleeding and dying on a cross doesn't appeal to me though , the Easter Bunny will do until they are older.

Now that my kid is 5, she often asks about the theory of God, heaven and the like. If she really saw the "true light", I'd think she'd have less of a "What-choo talkin' bout' Willis?" look on her face when I tell her that some people believe there is a man who lives in the sky that created us all and the other leap-of-faith gems that embody religion. She can stretch her imagination to accept the possibility of Santa, but is still very cynical about it.
My little girl does not need to say rosaries, or memorize verses from the bible, be baptized or confess her "sins" to be a good person, she just needs me to be a good parent and guide her until she gets the hang of things.

All these characters derived from pagans. It's all really evil made up stuff that you shouldn't even teach your childern. God is against it. There's no such thing as any of it and when you think about it, it's all lies. I don't understand why people think it's ok to go along with some traditions just because people before them did. This is from the pagan people disrupting the christian churches in the old days. I'm sure you can read about it in the library. I know it sounds crazy but it's true. I'm not teaching my kids any of it. Easter for e.g has a totally different meaning. It's in the bible but Jesus has nothing to do with a rabbit and eggs. Think about it. Christmas is about Jesus's conception and him getting gifts. Not a make believe man in a red suit here to deceive kids. Hope this helps

Kids want something to believe in. I'm not sure...but ACTUALLY Santa Clause is a man called Saint Nicholas, who actually was a real Saint. He brought thinks for the little Dutch kids and put it in their shoes for Christmas, which they left by the fire the morning before. Hence, stockings. Not sure about the rest...

Santa Claus is a real person... St. Nicholas. :)
I believed when I was a child, and my children believe. My husband and I are thrilled that they believe. The innocence of childhood is a sweet thing. :)
Oh, and my children also know what the true meaning of Christmas is... it's all about the spirit of giving and Christ's birth.
It's really sad that people make such a huge deal about this.

I teach my daughter about Santa, Eater Bunny, Tooth Fairy and so on so I can infuse her short childhood with some magic and wonder. I want her to have warm fuzzy childhood memories to carry her through any hardship she may face as an adult. I want her to feel softness and love when she things of the sweetness of her youth. I also teach her these things as they have done all of the above for me, and I have no mental or emotional scares from it.

i don't think that our children (or us, for that matter) are going to burn in hell because we choose to celebrate christmas or easter. in my household, we celebrate hannukah and christmas, passover and easter. or do you have something to say about those holidays, too? my ex-husband is jewish and i am christian. I realize that christmas isn't exactly jesus' birthday....but were you there when he was born? can you tell me the day? i know some believe it is around the feast of tabernacles, which is also a jewish holiday. did somebody miss that jesus was (and is) jewish? hmmm...that gets missed a lot in this whole arguement. and i'm sorry, but santa clause (in theory) was a real person. you read all your history books but miss that fact? His name was Nicholas, and he ended up getting sainthood because back in his day, the people would hang their stockings by the fireplace to dry after they had been washed (and probably to warm them up on those cold winter nights). he would come by and drop little things in them.....sound familiar? you can choose whatever you want for you and yours, but don't judge anybody else. that's a sin in and of itself. there's only one judge, and i prefer my chances with him, tyvm. i mean, we might as well be debating the "to spank or not to spank" issue. GOOD GREIF!!!!!

That is a deception of Satan and in that manner they have been dechristianized. Re-christianizing the christians will only be done effectively through the mercy and the grace of THE LORD GOD WHO is all compassionate and all loving GOD. But these can only come to us through our constant heartfelt prayers. And in praying, kneeling is an act of demonstration giving HONORS to the presence of THE LORD GOD with those in prayers or prayers in silence.
