for a week the truck was acting up when you would start it inside would knock a little then run fine but two days later the truck knocked and started smoking and won't stop. I havent moved the truck. i m scared the motor is gone and its a desil. there was motor oil in the motor.

well all diesel motors knock a little, but if yours is knocking more than normal, you have a problem. if the color of the smoke is blue, than you have a bad oil consumputan problem and this may indicate a broken ring. Your biggest problen is the knocking, can you have someone come over to listen to it? if you are afraid of driving it, that would be the choice i would shoot for

what color is the smoke? if its white then it would more then likely fuel know wich can be very loud and will sound similar to a rod know if you dont know the difference between the two. blue smoke something is more then likly broken like a ring but not to common. black smoke would be an over fuel problem.
need to know the year tof the truck as will as wich engine if a 7.3 is it an : idi, idit, or a dit engine and ill see if i cant give ya some more help
