Who say's? I see helicopters in nighttime operations all of the time, particularly the ones operated by law enforcement agencies, & also helicopters used for medevac.
The only time a helicopter would not be allowed in nighttime operations would be if a) the helicopter pilot is not night rated, or b) the particular aircraft (helicopter) is not equipped for nighttime VFR, or IFR operations.

Helicopters do travel at night. Not only do they have night capability, a lot have all weather capability as well.

Where do you get all these crazy notions? Helicopters DO fly at night times.

Yes they can and do. EXCEPT in Canada where it isn't legal to fly a single engine helicopter VFR at night.
At least it wasn't when I was flying there.
In the USA you can read your instruments at night with all the city lights, in Canada, especially in the Northern latitudes, you can't see your hand in front of your face at night.

Where do you live?? Police and Medical helicopters routinely fly at night.

They obviously do! I have 2-3 choppers going over my home every night, mostly are military ones though. I think commercial ones are not in use because its not working hour and its not always safe to move around in urban areas because of different installations in buildings.

YES THEY DO!!! Police helicopters obviously, but also search and rescue, (sometimes) and other scenarios such as Life Flight, air ambulances.

When I deployed to the Med in '86 (crap I'm getting old) we flew over 55% of out total time at night. Most of that off ships. Reinforced Marine helo squadron, CH-53Ds, CH-46S, UH-1, AH-1
For military, night time is best time. Harder to see and shoot you.
