Diet Coke contains Splenda as a sweetener whereas Coke Zero contains aspartame and acesulfame potassium.
They taste a little different from each other but I don't think either is significantly healthier for you to drink than the other. I'd go with whichever one seems to tastes better.

They're both just 'soda' with the flavor of the 'coca' leaf (orignally cocaine, probably, but now it's SYNTHETIC) with lots of caffeine (unless you drink the 'decaffeinated' which does NOT taste 'the same' at all) ...
Neither is 'particularly healthy' and you should 'limit' yourself to 'no more than one 12 ounce soda' a day ... with one 'exception' ... you may drink more 'plain soda water' if you can stand it with 'no sweetener' and just a 'twist' of citrus or berry ... but even then don't drink more than 32 ounces in a day, and don't have it EVERY DAY at that amount. Drink water, herbal tea (iced or hot), or 'watered down' fruit juices. You 'should get' 64 ounces of 'total water' a day ... you can get some of that from 'food' but most should be from 'beverages' ... and of course you'll need to 'count the calories carefully' if you are trying to 'lose weight' or not to gain weight.
There is a 'very good reason' not to drink too much 'soda' of any kind ... I had a friend once who drank a whole 'case' of 12 ounce 'sugary Cokes' every day ... for YEARS. He went into 'acute liver failure' when he was in his early 40s ... and DIED. He just 'couldn't give up those Cokes' ... so they KILLED HIM.
Drink WISELY ... and that isn't just 'alcohol' I'm talking about, but also 'sodas' ...

Diet Coke is worse for you because of the added sweeteners and preservatives and Coke Zero just has no calories.

Neither is going to be considered healthy. I'm not sure if Coke Zero has caffeine in it, if it does not than that would be the big difference between the two but basically neither has any sugar.

none of you is very helpful...everyone knows that there isn't a soft drink made that is good for you..the question posed is, which of the TWO, pepsi max or coke zero is LESS harmful to your health? No one asked if water is best for you, or if tea was good for you or natural sugars, or fruit juices..(which by the way are not at all good for a diabetic, natural sugars will cause severe sugar spikes as quickly as other sweeteners) some of us just LIKE cola products and want to know which of these two are less harmful.

It's a tie. Neither are particularly healthy.
I prefer Diet Coke (I drink as my caffein source, because I like it, and to avoid sugar).
