Just pick it up. However, it does have to be head side up. And try not to look like a homeless person at the same time.

Dog poo is actually near useless as fertilizer. It is entirely your responsibility to pick it up, so that the owner of the house doesn't accidentally step on it when he unknowingly walks around on a front yard he has every right to believe is not laden with dog dropping land-mines. Bring a plastic bag with you (newspaper bags are great for this, or you can buy poop pickup bags at petsmart) and just pick it up. Of course, by your philosophy, you would not mind at all if all of the neighborhood dogs pooped on your front lawn, right? Because, you know, it's all-natural, free fertilizer. What a load of... well. Oh, yeah, and check your local laws and codes... for instance in Washington, DC it is entirely YOUR responsibility, and no matter where your pup poops, except in your back yard, if you don't pick it up it's a $250 fine right there an then.

That's an old children's nursery rhyme which, of course, is groundless since there is no such thing as 'luck'. It's just a concept we have invented to try to explain good or bad things that happen and can't be explained. If you see a penny or any other coin just bend down, pick it up and stick it in your pocket. There's no 'etiquette' about it.

i didnt know there was an "etiquette" as far as picking up a coin but heres what i do
when i see a coin on the floor, i kneel down,
place my hand over the coin
and PICK IT UP
how hard is that???
