No, another ice age is not inevitable because we are STILL in an ice age. We are presently in an interglacial period of an ice age that started 40 million years ago.

Probably neither, the ice age is due to wobbles in the earth's cycle, and that would be significant. Frankly, I'd like it if it got a little cooler.

it is inevitable both naturally and human induced.....milankovitch cycles say we should be heading into an ice age right now but anthropogenic warming is causing us to go in the opposite direction....eventually however the natural cycle will take over and we will cool.....this might happen abruptly (within a decade) if the thermohaline conveyor shuts down and warm water stops being pumped northward from the equator....lots of possibilities but it will happen again either while we are around or not

"Is another ice age inevitable?"

Yes. The last one ended about 18,000 years ago. The next is due in about 80,000 years. I suppose it's possible we could mess up global warming enough to prevent it, but it's highly unlikely. Even more unlikely is the idea that global warming will cause an ice age, although it may disrupt ocean currents and cause _local_ cooling.

no sourse just an opinion. how will we ever know. Don't make changes it happens, still doesn't prove it. Make changes and drastically reduse co2 and it still ahppens maybe changed to late...you get my point.

There is no such thing as a static climate. It's going to get cooler sometime and man will not be the cause.

The timeframe in which an iceage happen and the pace at which we increase the atmospheric CO2 concentration are no longer the same.

Wether we like it or not:
we became able to influence the climate
we are about to understand how the climate works and how to control it
And finally we gained the power to control the climate

It is a cycle and regardless of manmade processes, it will happen again!

Another ice age is not in the picture anywhere, and has not been since the last one ended. During that interval, only one scientist has suggested the possibility, and he turned out to be wrong about all the things he predicted.
