You need to take your dog to the vet. Any bones that are broken and left unattended to heal on it's own will promote further complications down the line. Why would you want to put your dog through that? You need to go to your vet if you haven't already (which I don't know why you wouldn't have) and see what he suggests. If you are worried about the money then you shouldn't have an animal anyway. But, I'm sure they will let you do payment plans. Just get him to a vet!!!

Chances are about 99.9% no. Even if the bone healed normally, which is highly unlikely, there could very easily be nerve damage to the leg. This would cause your dog immense pain if not take away use of that leg altogether. Please, take your dog to the vet! If you can't afford it talk to your vet, they can set up a payment plan and work with you on something you can afford.

WHAT DID YOUR VET SAY? Do what your vet says. If you are uncertain about what your vet suggests go get a second opinion from a different vet.

I SWEAR TO GOD you had BETTER not be sitting on your computer asking this question WITHOUT having consulted a VET. If your dog is suffereing because you decided to ask major medical questions on YA .... I hope someone breaks your legs and leaves you in a ditch to die.

No way - take your dog to the vet right away! If it heals incorrectly, it could cause nerve damage and your dog will be in pain for the rest of his life.

I rescued a dog whose owner did not take him in when his leg was broken, and it had to be re-broken and set because he was in so much pain from having to walk crookedly.

You need to take your dog to the vet immediately regardless off what kind of break it is! Your vet will tell you what need to be done.. surgery or not, it needs to be taken care of right away!

It might heal though it will never be normal and your dog will be in a lot of pain. Why would you want to put your dog through that?

I dont believe so, if there was any bone exposed I know it wont. Why would you even think of not getting it fixed?
