No, not really. When you are a victim of identity theft, the credit bureaus (with the proper proof, of course) remove all the information from your report that was not yours or was not your doing.
So if new accounts were opened or if the thieves went over the limit on your current accounts, all of that negative information will be deleted.
The accounts that were not compromised will still be calculated into your score....so you are still held responsible for the payment history and whatnot during the time that your ID was stolen. They will readjust your score once the thief's doings are removed.

Yes, just push the credit reset button. Really, it can be some what reset but it is a big headache to deal with.

Reset? Not sure what you mean but what they typically do is put a flag on your report saying that there has been fraud against you.
