She is overweight and I need to tone up. We are thinking of going on Weight Watchers or Nutrisystem. Anyone tried these? We would like to reach our goal in 2-2.5 months. We walk about every day and she loves fruit but is having trouble for getting teased. I love her to death and want her to be happy!

hey! Great idea, I have meet many moms and daughter going together to Weight Watcher, and I think is great that you want to help her and go together even if you're not overweight.

I believe in Weight Watchers 110% I have seen the results and is very healthy and "real" plan, not like most diets that make you starve or feel guilty for eating what you like. I have many friends in WW and recently my mom too, My niece(14yrs) was with a nutrologist on a diet that make her suffer, she was teased in school for her overweight and also suffering for have so many prohibited foods, so I just explain her mom WW and she just star in WW and love it, can't tell you exactly how much weight is loosing because she just star but she look more happy and motivated.

Did you know that Herbalife nutritional programs just released new products for younger people: The Kids Shakes have 17 vitamins and minerals, plus protein & fiber. Excellent source of calcium, B-complex and antioxidant A,C & E. No artificial sweeteners, flavor or colors.

I personally have had excellent results with the ShapeWorks programs for adults, lost 30 pounds in two months, had lots more energy, and feel much better because I AM healthier.

Thought I would pass this info on to you because I think it is great that you are teaming with your daughter for better health and nutrition for both of you. The exercising together is great, too!

If you're interested in taking a look at Herbalife products, visit www.rNutritionMall.net. It's a great company with 25 doctors, including a Nobel prize winner, helping to develop the products.

Best wishes to you and your daughter.

IMO - Weight watchers is a better choice - their emphasis is more on having proper eating habits - and those will last a lifetime! (I've also heard Nutrisystem's food is kinda nasty-tasting, and if it doesn't taste good, you won't eat it.) I also don't think the pre-packaged stuff is worth it because it doesn't show you how to visualize having a proper portion, because you don't have to think about it. You just open a package. WW also gives you a support system from the meetings.

My girlfriend swears by Weight Watchers. It has the added benefit of teaching you what kinds of foods to eat for the rest of your life. My boss is on the South Beach Diet right now (under doctor's orders) and is having good luck with it, but as it limits fruit, that might not be a good choice for your daughter.

I was over weight before I hit highschool. Once I got there though, the pounds just dropped. If you're going for a program, I would suggest Herbal Magic. They'll put you on a diet plan, and give you supplements and such. They're really good, and the best part is, even once I stopped the program, I didn't gain back all the weight like you see on many of those diets.

Weight Watchers is good if you need moral support...also, both of you get out and walk briskly for at least 40 minutes every day...longer if you can...

build muscle. it'll take your extra fat.(fat that didn't get burn)
i don't exactly remember how.

drink lots of water, eat nuts and raisins to increase metabolism
workout.
eat healthy.
eat slowly, because it takes awhile for food to digest, so
it takes awhile to be full after eating.

eating slowly will allow you to know when you're full to eat less.

don't sit in front of the tv while eating.
pretty much pay attention only to your food when you eat
also allow your body to tell you when you're hungry, when it growls, eat.

do aerobic exercises

do 2 30min exercises then have a 20 min break you'll lose more wight than not taking breaks at all
play music that you enjoy, or music that makes you feel like dancing to you'll exercise more/longer

you can run in one place for 15 min per day or more.
or run up and downstairs. or jog/run/walk around your block.

then slowly increase the time, by 5 min per day.
and if you're gonna do sit-ups, cutches, pull=ups, etc. add 10 per day

starving will get you skinnier but at the end of it when you eat normally again your body will be saving it,
and you'll gain weight faster
like bears saving their food for the winter.

also laughing for 10-15 minutes
burns75 calories

all these have been proven true
