The rapture came about in 1830 when a 14 year old girl had a dream that the Christians would be lifted up and saved from the final test before Christs second coming. This became popular. People who believe in this doctrine don't understand just has a teacher would not keep one student from taking a test that could help them, so God and Christ will not keep us from facing a trial that could show how truly faithful we are, or aren't.
Remember it was a 14 year old girl's dream that's all nothing else. Before 1830 it wasn't taught in any religion.

biblically there are at least 4 definitions.
in high school there is a medical definition which is similar to a cut or a laceration.
the rapture was not a biblical word, nor a bibilical theology.
in the latter days, it was proven that Jesus was resurrected in body of flesh and bone according to the testimony of the disciples. when men are raised up in the resurrection as also described in the bible, many saints arose from their graves and went into the city. Others were lifted up into the clouds in a blink of an eye. The same thing will happen in our End of days. first the dead will rise and then also those that are faithful.
so the term rapture which is an 19th century invention from the verse found thess ch.4 may not be a pre trib promise or a post trib promise, it can be describing The resurrection of the second coming of the LORD. and after the kingdom is established there might well be another period of ressurrection and possible a third dispensation during the millenium when all the people that had done evil will be resurrected.
then again, Enoch was taken and so was elijah, so being raptured may indeed be an individual plan of exaltation as well.
One thing is certain, the wicked will not be raised up probably until the end of the millenium.

I think you may be asking about the rapture of the church? This word, rapture, came from the Latin vulgate and it was translated in Greek "harpazo", a "catching up". In one of the books in the bible, it describes how Jesus will take away the born again believers in Him at some point in time, we will "meet Him in the clouds". This precedes the seven year tribulation period, which precedes Jesus return to earth.
The rapture is not the second coming of Christ. The second coming, Jesus descends to the earth, He "plants his feet" on the Mount of Olives. We meet Jesus in the clouds at the time of the rapture, which can happen any time.

A rather catchy number recorded and released by Blondie in the early 1980s, often credited with being the first rap song to hit #1 on the Billboard charts?

A false teaching held on to by some protesant religions, such as Baptists. Many, for some reason, seem to think that the Left Behind series is real and not fiction and fantasy.

I believe the proper name is an inguinal hernia. It's easily cured with minor surgery.
