We're told to drink 8 glasses of water /per day, so I'm wondering why coffee wouldn't count?
Coffee is made w/ water, so why wouldn't a cup of coffee count as being part of the water I'm supposed to drink?
And if I add milk to my coffee why wouldn't I count that milk as part of the milk I need to drink every day?

Because the caffeine in the coffee is dehydrating - which counteracts the effects of water. (Even decaf coffee has some caffeine - just a smidgen, but some.) Same thing with soda.

The amount of milk you put in coffee is so small, that unless you're putting 1/4 cup or more in, it's not worth counting it towards the milk you need to drink.

I don't drink milk at all. However, I was going to also say that coffee is a diuretic. Also, when I lived mostly on coffee and diet cola, I was not in good health. It took a urinary tract infection for me to realize this. Funny, now that I drink mostly water (wit a cup of orange juice and some soy milk daily) I have no problems.

I don't see a problem in adding the milk to your daily milk amount, but Coffee as many say is a diuretic, and tend to dehydrate, so is the opposite to drinking water it make you loose more water, in fact is recommended add a glass of water to your daily amount per cup of coffee that you drink.

Water passes through your body system faster than coffee and milk and flushes out more toxin as coffee needs to be processed on its way through
Milk is a food source and stays in the stomach longer than water

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.ezunderstand.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 5.49$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!

I think coffee does not count because it acts as a diuretic
