Tough question...I don't like the term fool, but perhaps, in the context of "irrational", yes, I think athiests are fools. A rational man makes decisions based on the consequences of those decisions. An irrational man will jump off a ten story bridge without a bungee cord or parachute if he chooses not to believe in gravity...ignoring the consequences best described as "splat"!
The decision seems quite simple to me from a logical perspective. If God exists, then the consequences of rejecting him are bad and the consequences of accepting him are good. If God does not exist then the consequences of accepting him are nothing and the consequences of rejecting him are nothing. It doesn't seem rational to choose to believe he doesn't exist because you don't really gain anything if you're right and you stand to lose everything if you're wrong!
Edit: Bajango, I didn't say I didn't believe in other gods nor did I say which God I believed in...I was looking at the base equation, is there a God? I don't claim that my decision to believe in the Christian God is rational, just that my decision to believe that there IS a God (as opposed to denying the existence of any god) is rational. Of course, I could argue that my decision to be a Christian is also rational but that's a totally different question...I was just addressing your question about atheists!

The opposite, actually. Not wise, but rather exceptionally down-to-earth.
Most atheists I meet are atheists not based on the fact that they feel spiritually called to believe that there is no God, but rather on the fact that they have stacked evidence for and against the Bible and modern religion, and they have favored a lack thereof.
I would commend this, except that faith is not a matter of what evidence supports. Faith is something that encompasses the self and fills the soul--it makes no reference to what others believe and find.

In this passage of scripture, the meaning of "fool" in the original language means "arrogant one". It is speaking to the corp concept that there is nothing else but man and man alone. That essential belief system is by nature arrogant. Exalting self above all else and intellectualizing life is inherently ignoring or proportionately compartmentalizing ideologies of soul, spirit, and even creation and dismissing them as myths. So I do agree with the Bible. Think about it, if it were any other line of thinking and not this one you would say the same, and call the other arrogant for closing themselves off. I know that for years there have been many in my faith that have bastardized those that do not believe and that is arrogant and the work of fools. For those that are His children are children of light and love. Yes sin is real and as a believer I should not allow it in my life, but the purpose of this walk with Christ is to display love. Most of the Christian world does not study the Word so they are ignorant of the meaning of passages like this one. But may I submit to you that life is more than just what we see or feel, for I once thought as you did and I experienced a touch from Jesus Christ that has changed my life forever. Please do not be shut off to Him. I would love to discuss further with you or anybody who wishes to discuss this topic with me via email.

i think of a radical examining of scripture could teach that each and each physique adult adult males are able to great folly. What does it recommend to be a fool? It if truth be told ability to have self belief or behave in a manner that isn't on your guy or woman terrific interest. The clever guy builds his abode on rock, the fool builds his abode on sand. once you fool somebody you get them to take an action that isn't of their terrific interest with a view to healthful your guy or woman desires. (it is what you do in a chess interest, it rather is what the automobile broking tries to do whilst a client comes onto the lot) The Bible teaches that we've all acted in approaches that are no longer in our terrific pastimes. it rather is asserted as sin. Believing something that isn't actual can consequence in some very silly habit. i will somewhat and surely have self belief that hearth won't burn me. it rather is a pretend theory. If I act recklessly on the muse of this fake theory then i could do something extraordinarily silly. If I held to this theory and a missionary got here to me with the message that hearth can burn me and injury me i will even deride that guy or woman for their ridiculous thoughts, scoff at them and phone them stupid. interior the top we would the two think of the different guy or woman became particularly silly, yet purely one human beings could be terrific suited.

Yes, I think they believe that. However, the atheists cannot be fooled all their life. As soon as God shows some signs that he is alive and well, the atheists will admit their mistake, well before their end of life.

believing that there is no God (or equally, disbelieving all the evidence that God is)would constitute evidence. The discernments of God, wisdom, Christ are by kind...if you are bearing the fruit of a fool, then you will be known as a fool.
there are also other words/deeds attributed to fools.

Bajingo,
NO, I do not. I believe that there is an opening for everyone who believes to become a Christian. I do not feel that an Agnostic or an Atheist is a fool just because he/she does not believe at this time. Have a wonderful day and a glorious week.
Thanks,

Which fool was that again? There's a few of them in the bible, y'know?
And no, most Christians feel badly for atheists, except the ones who push their beliefs on others who don't want to hear it... much like atheists often feel about overzealous Christians.
