There are several steps one must take in order to figure this out:

1) Daniel 9:27 tells us the Tribulation will last *exactly* seven years. It is clear from the entire Book that Daniel uses a 30-day month. Therefore, people living on earth during the Tribulation can easily calculate the date of His return. This proves Jesus was not speaking about the Second Coming when He said no man would know the date of His return (He was actually speaking about the Rapture) -- since He was speaking to the first members of the Church, we must put His comments into the proper context and understand He was speaking TO the Church as a whole, and NOT to believers during the Tribulation. (They are not part of the Church.)

2) Detractors of this calculation method try to imply that there could be a time gap between the end of the Tribulation and the Second Coming. But what did Jesus say?

Matthew 24:29 "IMMEDIATELY after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 THEN the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn [Zechariah 12:10], and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

I've looked at the actual Greek words used at verses 29 and 30 that I've capitalized. The word "immediately" is correctly translated. The word "then" would be more accurately translated "at that time." Taken together, we have proof that there will be NO gap of time between the end of the Tribulation and Jesus' Second Coming.
