yes it does but it ruins your hair, honey mixed with a conditioner or just warm water and applied to the hair and dried in the sun works just as well and is less harmful, lemon juice makes your hair go straw like

they do work but damage the hair... both are very acidic which lower the natural pH of the hair which causes the cuticles to open to lighten the hairs natural pigments but in the process are quite damaging on the hair... products like sun in contain metallic compounds which can destroy the hair... im a hairdresser and my advice would be to go to a salon to have it done... if u dont want to spend the money go to a hairdressers and enquire about their training classes whih are usually supervised so u'd get just as good a job done for a fraction of the price..

Not sure about vinegar - I've heard that's a rinse for brunettes - but lemon juice is supposed to highlight the hair - I think it works best in conjunction with the sun.

NO NO NO! unless you want to fry your hair to oblivion or risk it turning orange then DO NOT put household foodstuff in your hair and attempt to fry it in the sun, and yes that is what wil happen- it will fry! i am an experienced hairdresser of 8 years and i have many people that come into my salon with dry, brittle, fryed and orange tinged hair that has to be cut all off! why do you think in salons we use bleach and colour? because it is much safer on the hair and you are 100% more likely to achieve the colour you are wanting. P.S. SUN-IN SHOULD BE BANNED!

I have never heard of vinegar working. Use either lemor juice or hydrogen peroxide. If your hair is fairly light it will bleach it out in the sun. If you use the hydrogen peroxide than put it on a cotton ball and only do streaks in your hair; in other words, only put the hydrogen peroxide where you want your highlights.
If your hair is dark, neither of these will work very well.
Good luck to you.

Caveat: I'm not a doctor, dermatologist, or chemist.
When I was a kid, I'd spend my summers in South Florida. I'd hang with a bunch of 12-15 y/o wannabe surfers. One of them was a kid named Jon, and he had a lemon tree in his back yard. He'd squeeze lemon juice into his hair every day, and he did look like a blonde-in-a-bottle (really light blonde hair). However, you should also know that we'd spend 5-7 hours outdoors, in the sun (because video games and DVDs were non existent) every day. That may have also factored in the hair.

Go to the salon, Have a Professional Hair Designer/Color Specialist do it for you. You will be much happier with the results.
Lemon Juice and Sun In and like products will damage your hair to much.
You want to keep your hair healthy dont you?
