but as a keepsake. Just don't know how many invitations to order.

You don't sound stupid at all! It's not like you host a wedding everyday. :)

You should send an invitation to everyone who you would like to attend your wedding, including parents, other close family and your bridal party. Make sure you order at least 25 extra invitations (usually 25 is the minimum increment for printers). This will cover errors and last minute invites. I know it may seem like you are wasting money by ordering more than you need, but it is a LOT less expensive to order extras than to re-order if you find you end up needing more.

Make sure you set a couple aside for keepsakes, just in case you are putting together a wedding scrapbook and/or would like to have one framed.

Best Wishes!!

Yes, it's good to give your parents an invitation (or two) as a keepsake.

I would order a few (maybe 10-15) extra invites just to be on the safe side. 1) accidents happen-what if you order just enough and spill something on the remaining batch. 2) you want a few for yourself 3) your parents want a few 4) Oops....what happens if you forgot to including Great Aunt Mary's invite in the final count. You're save b/c you have extra invitations.

As you note, it's not necessary to formally invite your parents to your wedding since it's assumed they will be there and most likely hosting, but yes, an invitation as a keepsake is a very nice idea which I'm sure they'd appreciate.

Absolutely! Every single person/couple/family (whatever the unit is) who you expect to be at your wedding should receive an invitation. Don't forget that the response cards will come in handy with organizing.

How many to order? Make sure you have enough extras for your own keepsakes, for accidental damange (spilling coffee, mis-addressing envelopes), and all those other little "oops, I forgot to invite Uncle John" issues.

Yes this is not only a big day for you but for your parents also. Make sure that they have at least one invitation to keep as a momento of the big day. Make sure that they get copies of pictures, extra copies of bridal shower invitations and such. This is a big day when their girl gets married many moms will scrapbook your wedding or at least keep a keepsake box of momentos from your wedding.

I think they say to order 25 more invites then you have guests because in case you get rejects you might want to invite people that would have invited if you had the room! Plus you want at least one extra for yourself! Also everyone should be mailed an invite! Including parents and attendants!

Yes, send your parents an invitation. They will likely want to hold onto it as a keepsake.

Make sure you also keep one for your own memento.

It's a good idea to order plenty of extras in case you find some last-minute people you should invite, and also to have back-ups in case of mistakes. I had about 60 invitations to send out, but printed 80.

Sure give them one!

I'm giving everyone one, including the wedding party and parents, since I don't know if they want to keep any as keepsakes or not.

I'm sending one to everybody, well not everybody but one for each party of two. My parents and family members are getting an invite too. So look at your guest list and one per household and all the single invites.

NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE THEM ONE AS AN INVITATION, BUT MAKE SURE THEY RECEIVE ONE AS A KEEPSAKE. MY DAUGHTER BOUGHT ME A MEMORY BOX AT HALLMARK WHERE I HAVE ALL THE LITTLE MOMENTOS FROM HER BRIDAL SHOWER AND WEDDING KEPT. IT'S NICE TO LOOK THROUGH THE BOX OCCASIONALLY TO BRING BACK THE MEMORIES OF PLANNING AND HAVING HER WEDDING. ALSO, YOU WILL WANT TO ORDER EXTRA INVITATIONS IN CASE YOU MAKE A MISTAKE IN ADDRESSING THEM, OR FORGET TO SEND ONE TO SOMEONE. THEY'RE NICE TO HAVE FOR A WEDDING SCRAPBOOK, OR TO PUT IN A NICE WEDDING FRAME AS A KEEPSAKE.
