Well, I am on the same track. I have lost 13 lbs in 5 weeks. And I've gained a lot of muscle all over. Here's what worked for me:

1. Adjust your diet immediately! Set a reduced fat, reduced calorie diet that you can stick with. I drank a weight-loss shake for one meal, a low fat cereal (like Cheerios) for another meal, and ate a sensible dinner. Portion size is key! Also, keep your home and desk stocked with healthy snacks like fruit, veggies, granola bars, yogurt, nuts, etc. Get rid of any junk food that can temp you. If you have to eat out or get fast food, make good decisions. Even McDonalds has healthy options like the grilled chicken sandwiches (w/o mayo) and fruit salads/fruit & yogurt parfaits. Once you start eating better, that fatty junk food will taste nasty to you. At all costs, avoid your standard junk food temptations (for me it was Reeses peanut butter cups and Starbucks). Once you quit them for a week, you will find that you can do without them. And the rapid weight loss will keep you motivated if you get any cravings.

2. Work out 3 times each week for atleast 30 minutes. I got a trial membership at Curves and found that workout program very effective. It is set up with 12+ resistence machines w/ low platforms between each machine for moderate cardio to keep your heart rate up between the machines. Each station is 30 seconds and you go around the circle twice, so it moves quickly. You could also do a workout DVD like Cardio TaeBo. Just find a workout that you can commit to, and push yourself every time you work out. You know if you are giving 100% or holding back. DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF, because then you're just wasting your time. And be sure to always stretch after working out. If your muscles are sore, you didn't stretch enough.

You have to change your eating habits and exercise to get the results. But after 1 week, you should notice your clothes fitting differently, and that will keep you going. GOOD LUCK & I HOPE YOU MEET YOUR WEIGHT LOSS GOAL!!!!

Well, the mathematics of it is as follows:

There are 3500 calories in a pound. Therefore, to lose 20 pounds you must decrease your caloric intake by 70,000 calories. Spread out over a 60 day time period, that equals about 1,167 calories per day.

This is a lot of calories to eliminate daily, depending upon what your intake has been over the last months. You can increase the deficit by doing exercise that will help to eliminate calories as well. You can realistically eliminate about 200 - 300 calories per day, so that would leave the rest to decreased intake.

If you eat right and exercise regularly, you can safely lose 2 - 4 lbs a week.

Do not skip meals
Do not drop your cals below 1200 a day
Eat lean meats, fresh fruits and veggies, complex carbs, healthy fats, and drink lots of water
Exercise 5 days a week, shoot for 1 hour a day

Good luck!

probably.
on a good diet you can lose 1-2 pounds per week,
which is 10 pounds in a month.
so yes, as long as you don't mess up you could lose 20 pounds in 2 months.

good luck.

You may want to focus on your health more so than your weight. You need to know that sugar, junk food, and fast food are not your friends when it come to being fit (You know being fit means you will be at your ideal weight). You may want to consider eating more natural fruits in vegetables in your daily diet and remove or reduce wheat, dairy, and sugar. Eat fresh food not processed food (food in boxes, restaurants, etc.) is always better. Drink water, green or ginger tea 30 minutes before or after each meal. These things will get you on your way to being healthier which will translate into a smaller and more vibrant you. Look at http://stayinformed.info/kitchen.html in the kitchen section on why you should stay away from wheat (gluten), MSG and other foods that causes obesity and hypertension.

When eating, take your time and chew your food 2 to 3 times longer than you’re accustom to. This will aid in digestion. Add fiber and organic choices to your diet. All the growth hormones, MSG, preservatives, gluten, and artificial flavoring may lead to weight gain.

Get exercise, walk or jog, go out dancing, play sports, or just do what you enjoy a lot and incorporate exercise. This will help you to day tomorrow and for the rest of your life.
