The written word is very powerful even if it is slanted in favor of truth or misconception. Will it help you make a sound judgement?

3 Big things...one is money and fundraising. The internet serves as a really good gateway for politicians to make money, as well as selling buttons and bumper stickers

Second is that people who are interested in what the candidate stands for can go to their website and, generally, find a statement of their beliefs and platform in plain english. It's a lot more efficient than trying to get their point of view out of a commercial or debate answer, although those are important ways to find out what the candidate values as well.

Third, and maybe most importantly, that if a politician screws up, everybody will know about it really fast. It'll be on Youtube before it's on the evening news. Every single moment of their public appearances and speeches, and even the more candid moments, are going to be caught by somebody, and if they slip up, they're as good as sunk.

Perfect example is Senator George Allen of Virginia, who was caught calling somebody a "macaca" at a campaign event. That's a racial slur, and he says he didn't know that, which makes you wonder why he said it. Anyway, he was way in the lead before that, and almost lost re-election because of it.

American Presidential elections, like no other country's elections, constitute a matter of great interest and concern to peoples of all nations across the globe. Th basic reason is obvious, as it effects the peace and development every where.

Internet provides rapid dissemination of the developments, even before the media prints or visuals are shown on TV channels.

Yahoo Answers is providing an important forum in this regard

The internet is already affecting the presidential election. If you'll note fundraising returns at the quarters, the Democrats are winning for the first time in forever. Since 2004, they've built MASSIVE email networks across the country and it's showing. The Republicans have not done nearly as much and I think that's showing up in fundraising. Maybe funds don't translate directly to votes but without funds, you can't exactly create negative TV slots can you?

I'd venture a guess that 99% of people participating in political discussions such as these have already made up their minds. And at least half of those people won't even vote.

Howard Dean banked on the Internet youth population and lost his shirt in embarassing fashion. I doubt any candidate will make that same mistake this time.

People who say the Internet will affect the election are largely just trying to inflate their own self-importance.

Internet will influence the voters because of what the people want in choosing their President. When more people favor a candidate, they will likely vote for the said candidate.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know who will likely win.

In the net .
Everyone were just having fun and good times in messing them up.
When the time come.
It will be the real thing that taste like coke.
That make it works.
Now just having fun with ghostly stories.
In playing base-ball.
Trying to make it to the home-run.

This will affect it greatly. Presidential candidates could post information about if they would make president. They could put up a myspace, and much more. They could also put up stuff to hurt the other candidates.

o ps if you have any coke codes may I please have them. My email is chdwallin@yahoo.com
