People have a right to smoke if they want to. They should have a right to smoke WHATEVER they want to.

I think you will have more success supporting the legalization of marijuana, which is a more constructive and ethical way to direct your efforts.

I work with U.S. Customs which now includes the DEA. Do you REALLY want to create a new 'tobacco cartel' and a new criminal class of people who want to smoke cigarettes? Just look at how well criminalizing marajuana and other drugs has worked out.

Before 'delegalizing' tobacco, I'd be for legalizing marijuana and many of the other drugs and let people deal with the consequences of their actions and bad decisions. It'd pull the rug right out from under the criminal organizations whose whole fortune is tied up in these drugs. Legalizing them would put them out of business, empty the jails and save countless lives and billions of dollars lost in the 'drug war'.

You better hide. The Smokers rights have been taken away and they are at the end of putting up with you non smokers. You cannot get high on Tobacco. There is nothing but smoke that mj and tobacco have in common.
Go buy those cigarettes pay a ridiculous tax on them but smoke them.Ridiculous.

Consider all the pluses and minuses.
Less illnesses, less medical treatments, longer life expectancy, etc.
Unemployment at manufacturers, (outsourcing), farmers on welfare, Black Market, similar to prohibition, lost tax revenues, more/longer Social Security outlays, etc.

On Jan. 1, Texas increased cig tax by $1.00 per pack, in addition to previous tax.

When you have analyzed all the pros and cons, then make your move.
