The almost complete inaccuracy the irresponsible media has when reporting about ANY firearm related story. They hype it up to the point where you can't tell fact from fiction. Case in point, here locally in Hampton Roads Virginia they reported a gun crime, describing the firearm as an assault weapon, the weapon in question was a Ruger 10/22 !!!! ( That's a .22 caliber rifle for those that don't know) The worst offenders are the big 3 cable news networks, where ratings seem to over ride accurate and comprehensive reporting. remember the massacre at Va. Tech where the media coverage made unfounded claims about what type of weapon the killer was using, everything from machine guns to high powered assault rifles, when in reality he used a simple Glock 9mm and a Walther 22 pistol.Even then they called the weapons "combat pistols", and the average American simply doesn't know any better. In this age of political correctness, it's literally a war of words, and the wording our "media" uses to report on firearm storys is mostly speculation, conjecture, and complete lies.If it bleeds, it leads.

what about the fact on the network news any crime they show an icon on screen of a handgun, what about the politician in michingan i believe she's pushing that self defense isn't a human right, that equal force should be used example if the bad guy has a knife you can only use a knife to defend your self, if they were only going to rob you you cant hurt them, I believe dont in the old saying dont bring a knife to a gun fight, we all have the right to defend life and property from others no matter what, the liberals in this country want an unarmed population so they can take over with thier free love world peace bull sh*t ideals that will only work in thier minds, and michael moore and clinton are the worst more people die each year in car crashes, drownings, and such so we should sue the automakers for making the cars and god for making the water its all ridiculous its time people should be held responsible for their actions not the community, it may take a village to raise a child but it also takes one bad apple to ruin the rest, any everyone on here if you havent done so yet join groups like the nra nwtf safari club call your state representative, senators take a stand make your voice heard spend some cash because these liberals are the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so take time now instead of complaining later

The media seems to imply that guns have their own mind, and are inherently evil. They hardly ever look at the individual person behind each crime or suicide, they would rather blame the gun for the incident occurring. PEOPLE should be held accountable for what they have done, not the firearm, a firearm is an inanimate object, and can't harm anybody, by itself, more then a spoon in the silverware drawer can.

I'd have to agree with bghoundawg, it's the ridiculous notion that inanimate objects such as guns cause crime. Truth be told, if a person is hellbent on killing another, they will find a way to do it with or without a firearm. Another good one is how we can rely on law enforcement to protect us and 911 will save our lives. Yeah right, I live 15 miles from where my county sheriff's dept. is located. By the time they could get a unit out here to assist me, I'd be long dead. Yes, I know things can and have gone horribly wrong when people have guns in their homes, but I'd still rather take that chance than depend on someone else to protect me. Sadder than the nonsense the liberal wackjob media spread is the willingness of a large portion of the population to just blindly surrender essential liberties won by the blood, sweat, and tears of their own ancestors. Looks like the "Dumbing Down of America" is almost complete.

If indeed it was an exact replica, that would be possible. The originals held 60 gr. FFg. Two types of bullets were used, round ball and conical. When Colt started making them, the cylinder was made shorter to accommodate only 50 grains because a lot of the originals suffered from ruptured cylinders attributed to poor metallurgy, but speculation has it it was caused by loading the conical bullets in backwards.

It was some comedian, Bill Engvall or some one like that that said..."If you can blame guns for killing people, than you can blame a pencil for mis-spelled words". A gun alone cannot inflict harm, it the people who handle them. If a firearm is used properly, it can be a useful tool. If guns were made to kill, then buildings were built so people could jump off of them, and ladders were meant to fall off of and cars were invented to crash into cement pillars. I will admit, guns themselves were designed to deliver a deadly blow, but only for a good reason, like DEFENDING OUR FREEDOM, OR OUR PERSONAL SAFETY. Not just because you caught you woman sleeping with your brothers best friend. I could go on and on about this, but for time's sake, I stop now.

that stricter gun laws reduce crime.thats crap, people will use a rock if thats what they are reduced too,my personel view is that movies,tv , video games and a complete lack of parenting ,morals what have you are the reason we have more violent crime, and not just gun crimes, but that being said how can you violate freedom of speech just because of violence?,you can't,just the same as you can't violate the 2nd ammendment because of a few knuckleheads,

I think the biggest, most brazen, bald-faced lies were those perpetrated during the run-up to the "assault weapon" ban (note that even the defintion of the term has changed because of it) showing videos of select-fire weapons and politicians saying those were what the bill was banning.
