It's an attempt to erode your credibility. Mistakes in typing means you have an error in your post and, by implication, aren't the sharpest tack in the box or particularly diligent in your thought processes.
It's the lazy Christian's way of attacking your post. They don't have to actually think about what you say - just attack your grammatical skills.
However, atheists do it too.
It reminds me of that old James Bond film, From Russia with Love. Christians and Atheists are the two tiger-fish fighting it out, while the smart fish waits for them to destroy/exhaust each other then move in for the kill.

1. Judging is not presently unique to 'Christians.
2. Not all 'Christians do it on here presently.
3. a simple typo can radically change the meaning of a comment/question. (Responders may not 'know' it is a typo either at that moment).

mmm...A question that has sat in my mind a long time. I will be watching the responses this question inspired because I, too, am curious why so many Christians feel they can sit in the chair of judgment over others because they are Christians.
I hope you find the answer you seek

It's not just a Christian trait. However, I do it when someone is telling a group how dumb they all are and has his or her post littered with errors. I've always said if you're going to accuse people of being dumb, then make sure you don't look it yourself.

What? Why would it bother you. Ahhh but it does. It's called a God given ability to recognize disapproval.
Now, take that, times infinity, and you may have a clue the judgment God will inflict on those who He disapproves of.
Yikes...talk about hammered.

Everyone does it. You should see the non-fundamentalists jump when one of them posts a question with spelling errors.

Are you sure they weren't just trying to correct you? We like everyone else do take it upon ourselves to correct someone if they're wrong. What's the harm in that?
