I'd like to know people's own personal reasons for considering homo/bisexuality to be wrong~
This is your own reasons for why you consider it wrong, not because your religion says it's sinful or immoral, etc - YOUR reasons.
Additionally if you weren't bound by your religious convictions would you have a problem with homo/bisexuality?
Thanks

LaptopJesus, could you elaborate a little more. Why do you think it's some sort of perversion?

LabGrrl, Not sure if you were offended but I didn't mean any offense by calling them religious convictions, I guess I mean "religious convictions against homo/bisexuality if you have any". Peace.

Okay, there are several answers that mention that homo/bisexuals can't reproduce. But neither can sterile/infertile straight people. If you found out your friend was sterile/infertile would you treat them the same as if they were gay/bi?

You're gonna get at least a dozen answer stating that "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve."
I personally have many friends who are gay/lesbian or bisexual. I have no problems with them whatsoever.

I think it is wrong because I found myself suddenly feeling that way when I was 19. I felt miserable all the time, I hated my life, and a I contemplated suicide. It just didn't feel right at all. I spent 8 years hating myself and looking for an escape. I finally found Jesus after about 6 years and instead of continuing to try on my own to get free, I just focused on Him, following Him, serving Him, and slowly it just faded away. I am free of those thoughts and feelings now!
It is a perversion because it is outside the natural order of things. Sex does have a purpose - not only reproduction, but the intimate act between two people who love one another and are creating a family. (even a family of 2) I believe in the 2 become 1 idea. I can see that men and women have complementary traits, and when they come together they make a more complete "person" than they did alone. The two who are meant to be a married couple are stronger and more functional as a couple. The male and female aspects are both necessary to complete the set. Sex is the act of joining the 2 parts of a whole together. When both parts are the same, they are missing some elements of the pairing that is intended.

Look, it's the age-old question/issue. I have gay friends. I pray for them daily. I also have friends who lie and perhaps even steal (as in lifting a pen from work or something). I pray for them daily, too. I have friends whom take the Lord's name in vain and whom drink to excess, whom smoke, whom do terrible things to their bodies, whom lust after another, whom covet their neighbor's goods. Name it. We all have friends whom sin. WE'RE ALL SINNERS. But that doesn't keep me from loving them in the Precious Name of Christ.
My convictions are founded biblically. It's the way we live. There is nothing wrong with stealing food if you're poor and hungry, right? Wrong. It's wrong. Why? Because the Bible says so. Things happen for a reason. Everything. You can't question it. Well, maybe YOU can, but we don't. Or should learn not to.
So the answer is - - you love the person, you hate the sin, as with all sin. You cannot go to heaven if we're separated from God and we're separated from God through sin. Christ is the only avenue to eternal life.
I do have to say that, as a Christian, I am appauled at the many whom claim to love Christ and His teaching yet fail to get this one truth. And that is - love your neighbor as yourself. We are directed to do so. Christ didn't say, "oh except those gay people....." I so wish Christian people would stop the hypocrisy. We can't pick and choose which parts of the Bible we want to follow. It's all or nothing. Sorry for the rant.

I know something about that because I am Bi.
With Bisexuality, you are basically telling your partner that they cannot count on you. You are saying that sex can occur with someone other than them compounded by the fact that you swing both ways. It may cause some great relationships to never happen because of it.
As for being Gay I see it mainly as an anti social 'condition' if you will. There are many circles ( unfortunately) where it is simply not acceptable to be Gay. One of the most tragic ('tragic' is still an understatement) is the communication between a father and his child, or between mother and child. Because at the formative years and the years where the child is still forming their mind, they are beset with guilt and often have to deal with the suicide issue should they turn out to be desiring homosexual sex with others.

Nothing.
Unnatural? NO, many animal species can trans gender. Gross? Depends on your point of view and fear (homophobia). Immoral? Obviously not, morality comes whether you are straight/bi/homo, its a matter of how you were raised. Procreation and in-fertilization? We still have infertile men and women without homosexuality.

I don't consider it wrong for those that are gay or bi. From my own perspective, I cannot for the life of me understand how another man can be considered attractive, but then again, that's why I am hetero. I have no religious convictions that would label any choice between consenting adults to be "wrong" or immoral.

As a lesbian residing in the South, I often ask people this question.
The only one I've gotten is "Because it's gross". They do have a way with words down here.
People are uncomfortable around people who are different. And since gays are in such large numbers (and growing!), we're a big threat to a lot of tradition.
And they don't understand it a lot of the time. It challenges our traditional family structure, a few centuries' worth of laws, and the natural inclination of the majority of the population.

There is nothing wrong with homo/bisexuaity.
You are asking for logical answers. You will not get any from the bible crowd. They are incapable of thinking without it. Since it is illogical to begin with, you will receive illogical answers.
Bottom line. Have whatever opinion you want. Just keep it out of our laws!

When you take God out of the picture I guess everything would be alright.Murder, rape, child abuse, robbery, all of these things would be OK.Does the word AIDS mean anything to you?
Try going into a restroom at a rest area. The filthy remarks and drawings on the wall are enough to make you sick.I can't even take my children in them.Animals show more respect than these people do.
Thank you FullgospelShirley and God Bless!

I have no problem with it.
And to all the people who say "it's gross" - what the heck are you doing watching other people engaging in sex, anyway?
