Very normal. I was just listening to a pediatrician talk about this yesterday on the radio and he suggested just letting toddlers be picky eaters. They will have favorites and he said let them eat their favorites until they are sick of them. He said to not worry about nutrition right now. They aren't growing as much during this time so they don't require as much food.
My son is a picky eater as well and I figure as long as he's eating something then I'm happy.

He's just trying new tactics. kids are all about new cause and reaction. Dont start and arguement with him about it. Take them away for a while and try something else. Come back to them in passing, for say, a snack, in a week or so.
If you keep from making it a battle of wills eventually he'll come back to them.
If he starts to become a picky eater about everything, dont put up with it. He wont starve himself. Just leave his plate on the table during meal times, and put it in the fridge in between. He wont starve for waiting until the next meal, and he will learn its better to eat than go hungry.

My son would eat anything I gave him..... then he turned 4.... then all he would eat was peanut butter sandwiches, cheese, milk and yoghurt!! It happens, their pallet goes through many changes, at 2 1/2 his world revolves around touch and taste and at the moment the squishy banana is just not doing it for him, don't stress on it, try turning the bananas into cake or a smoothie :-)

they become picky eater in this age; also, get fade up from some foods if you keep giving them frequently.
He will be bothering you from now on at meal time untill he gets six years old. My three years daughter use to eat all kinds of fresh veggies and fruits until three from last couple of months she has been giving me headache every day. one day she like something and other day she hates. So calm down and keep introducing variety of foods. try not no give him his favourite everyday. or otherwise he will get bore from that.

He may just be tired of them. I wouldn't want to eat the same thing for weeks on end, so why would you expect him to be any different?
Toddlers are notorious for having binge/starvation modes as well. At this stage, their growth is slowing down tremendously so they don't need as many calories a day as they once did. So they can survive on much less than we think they can.

All that they have said and also, they get what nutrients they need then move on to something else. My son ate vegemite toast and sandwhiches for 3 weeks and little else! it drove me nuts offering him everything but being rejected. then one day he said yes to apple and broke the habit!
Also its a control thing, finding out what they have power to control

he could be constipated from all the bananas.
also my kids like the mixed fruit cups from dole,
super easy, and they like them
You know kids are funny, one minute they like something the next they don't.
try and get him to start talking , it'll help you tremendously
