Hello sweet YEAHthatsRIGHT.. :)

He was a King of Scotland and England..

Some (not all) Catholics tried to kill him, because he did not agree with their version of the Bible, so he had some of his scholars interpret the Bible, so all could read it.. :)

I just found out a couple of years ago, that I am a descendant of King James.. :)

James was King of England in the early 1600's, following Elizabeth I (I think). James decided that there should be an English translation of the bible; most of the bibles of that era were still in Latin, and previous attempts at translation had been suppressed. He appointed a committee to do the deed, and what they came up with is what is now called the King James version. There is more to the story; look into Henry VIII, and why he dumped Catholicism to set up the Anglican church.

He was King of England in 1611 when the King James Version of the Bible was created. It was the first English translation, and exists because the English wanted to be able to read it in a language other than Latin.

King James I of England (Also King James VI of Scots). The version was named after him, who was king at the time, but he actually had nothing to do with the translation or compilation of texts.
