Why should one listen to God about how to raise my children when he had to drown his own kids in the flood?

To the person who said Satan created the flood, um God himself says he is going to bring forth a flood.

If my son or daughter has sex before marriage should I then drown them because they have sinned? That's the way God does it

One can try to defend or justify God's actions but in the end it isn't just the flood story that places God in the wrong but the killing of all the first born children of Egypt who were innocent, and to many other examples of a God who in the end if he existed would need to ask for our forgiveness for creating Satan and knowing what a stain he would be to God himself and Humans. Alas some of you will continue with your illusions in the face of logic.

God didn't drown His children. He SAVED His children (Noah and his family). Those who have a RELATIONSHIP with God are His children, the other ones are His creation, but they are rebels, NOT God's children.

Let's look at the story in Genesis 6 in more detail.
1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them,
2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.
3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days— and also afterward— when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
5 The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

In verse two it says that the "sons of God" had sexual relations with women on earth and the result were the giant Nephilim. The "sons of God" are Satanic angels who possessed man and women and they were so obsessed with sex that a great number of their children were born and those children became giants.

The key to understand the reason for the Flood is in verse 5. "Men's thoughts and inclinations were EVIL ALL THE TIME".

Imagine you have a family and your neighbors are evil ALL THE TIME. They come to rape your wife whenever they please, they molest your children whenever they please, they plunder your house and belongings whenever they please. And when you call the police for help, they join in the wickedness as well, because THEIR thoughts and works are EVIL ALL THE TIME as well.
A clue to understand the stories in the Old Testament is what Paul says in 1. Cor. 10:11 "These things happened to them as examples and were written down AS WARNINGS FOR US, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come."

God knew that people would sin, that's why He told Adam and Eve about the Savior already in the Garden of Eden, at the time of the first sin. He had planned for the Savior to come before He created man. (Read my blog on "Why did Jesus have to die?" for more detail.)
People don't get condemned to hell for their sins. They get condemned to hell for NOT ACCEPTING God's gift of salvation through Jesus.

God created men with the freedom to make choices and exert their will. So, He had to take the risk that they would disobey Him, but He also had already prepared a remedy for their fall into sin--Jesus.

Rev.13: 8 " All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast— all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN FROM THE CREATION OF THE WORLD."

His first kids committed sins worth eternal damnation, and their kids killed each other. He is a failed parent, and he knows it by killing off all of his family, multiple times. What a failure. Yet, christians blame the kids, not the parent. No wonder christian children are so bizarre these days.

21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

22 all in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

No where does it speak of children..it could be, that all were adults because they were with their own gender and stopped being with those of the other gender.. :)
