I'm WELL over this girl, I've dated other girls since!
This girl treated me badly when we dated (rude, manipulative, etc.) I'd drive TWO hrs. to see her and treat her like a princess; she acknowledged it! A YEAR after we split, she found out I was dating a new girl through grapevine, she sent me a nasty e-mail quoting the Bible! Cut me off.
One YEAR after that, she had just gotten out of a relationship with this guy she considered "hot." She wanted to tell ME about it and sought me for sympathy!
Here's why I chose to listen to her: I knew she was going to revel in her misery, and she did. I never laughed at her, got angry, or consoled her--just listened. She went on about how she wanted ME to be her friend again and about how abusive this guy was to her (i.e. - calling her fat, dumb, ugly, etc.) I thought "serves you right b*tch" and had no compassion for her.
After 6 mos. of "befriending" me she cut me off and hastily found a new guy.
What was she trying to accomplish?

1. She teaches sunday school and attends church 2-4X weekly. Hypocrite.
2. She's from the mountains of eastern Kentucky, so she may have the whole Deliverance/Mountain Hillbilly attitude thing.

Obviously she needed the attention of a guy after her breakup, and you were him. You didn't say, but it sounds like you were the one who may have ended the relationship, and if you did, you made the right decision! The fact she eventually emailed you a nasty email shows she was jealous of your new girlfriend.
The fact she contacted you a few years later and confided in you about her abusive relationship suggests she probably still thought that since you worshiped her a few years back and that you had put up with all her crap, she realized what she may have had and thought you would drop everything for her and be there like you were before. Honestly, your reasons for listening to her as you said above, were exactly as how I would have handled it...I am not a vindictive person, but being human, I would have had no compassion under those circumstances either. And, your reaction at that time were obviously warranted by the fact she moved on six months later.
The fact you "listened" says it all. What did she accomplish in the end? She lost one hell of a friend by the read of it!
Good luck with your new girlfriend :)

She NEEDS someone to be there and listen for her own satisfaction; after all, she can't be a martyr if nobody knows how much she's "suffering." The only reason she keeps dragging you into her twisted life is because you actually listen to her; everyone else has probably told her to shut up by now. You need to tell her how you feel and then tell her to never, ever call you again.
You can't fix her, so ignore her, or continue living this way, you're choice.

...don't blame her souly and entirely for her own misguided conflictions here my friend. Some people on this planet simply can't help themselves through their own mental misguided misfortunes. Life's experiences can create bad karma in some of us unwittingly! That's why we have therapists and psychologists to get to the root of one's own anxieties about life reasonably. Set it up.....and go with her to a therapist of her choosing,....and keep an open mind about her internal mental afflictions here partner. She's probably not so perfect as you are unfortunately. Her youthful past life has some secrets you don't know about alternatively. There are some things from her past we simply don't have understanding about unfortunately. Go with her calmly and quietly and find out....OK? You'll sleep better in the morning with her if you do my friend....understood?

Well she either needed a friend or she was trying to get your sympathy so you would want her back. It sounds to me like she definitely has some issues she needs to work out. And as for her quoting the Bible, she really needs to get her priorities straight before she starts judging. Christians are not called to judge, we are called to love eveyrone. If I were you I would change my e-mail address first, then change your phone number. She sound semi-unstable and you don't need to get caught in the cross fire. Just try to keep your distance.

Sounds like the typical insecure woman.
Can't stand to be alone.
So when she broke up with one guy, she contacted you because you are familiar to her - and she would not feel alone.
Naturally, the second she can meet her needs somewhere else, she drops you as if you were an annoyed tarantula .
You just fill her needs for the moment - just to bridge the time to find a new guy.

you are a sucker.
first you were her relationship punching bag (at least you were getting some sex)
THEN
you were her emotional punching bag (no sex)
See what happens when you treat them like a princess? You should have slammed the door and said never again a long time ago.

hi
I think that she still cares about you and therefore she was trying to make you jelous, because that's what some girls do to their ex's to show that they don't care anymore and that they got somebody better now, if she didn't care about you then she would have just left you alone and didn't bother you, but obviously she does
♥hope I helped

Sounds to me like you still have feelings for her or the situation would not bother you. Don't let her win.
