I like the look of the slide-in range as opposed to a freestanding or drop in. However, I am concerned about the backspash. We are planning on a new countertop with a 4 inch backsplash, and then tile between the countertop and the cabinet.

Does a slide-in have any counterspace behind it (or can it?) to allow for a uniform backsplash along the whole back wall? If not, then I'll either do a drop in or think about a countertop without the 4 inch and just do tile.
Thanks.

You'll be able to have one continuous piece of backsplash with a slide-in.

However, if you're talking about countertop, that's a different story. That will depend on the dimensions of the range vs. the countertop. See pics below:

They're both different in countertops behind them, but they both have seamless backsplashes.

Backsplash Behind Range

Honestly, I've never heard or seen anyone do that before... When the top goes in, sometimes the walls aren't 100% straight, so those tiles eliminate that gap and make the walls look flush with the top again. Another problem would be the cut of the counter-top working with your plan. You would have to make sure that you let the installer know that you are planning on doing that, since they would more than likely have to make modifications to what they normally do. I would advise against doing it, but if you do, let us know how that works out.

nope thats why they are called slide in .they slide into the counter top and there is a 3 inch space behind the range that is counter top.(not back splash) the small space behind the ct can attach to a b/s but you need a liitle space of counter top.

yes there is a 3 inch deep by 30 inches wide piece of counter top.
