to the person who called me a misanthrope: I do not hate or distrust mankind, I just don't get along with most people because I am very intelligent and don't waste my time with all the backstabbing and game-playing.

Nope. A few cats is fine. Over 3. Crazy cat lady. Pets are these days are really considered people's best friends. Most days my girlfriend would rather talk to the cat then me.

No, I don't think you're crazy, lots of people have pets as best friends....a pet is non-judgmental, doesn't criticize and loves unconditionally. All they ask in return is that you feed and care for them. Lots of times a psychiatrist or psychologist might prescribe getting a pet to care for as, at least partial, remedy for lonliness, depression, as well as some other medical diseases.
So, keep loving your cat but, I would suggest that you try to find at least at least 1person to befriend as well, maybe another cat lover....someone who has the same interests as you...if you are around people with your same interests it usually becomes easier to relate and find friends.

No, you are not crazy, my cat is my best friend and I think I'm hers. I feel the same way, I don't like people b/c most can not be trusted, only on certain days do I or am I sociable and I like it that way!

No you are not. Actually I prefer to have 5 cats than to have 2 best friends who doesn't like each other as they keep back stabbing each other.

Nope, that is your life style, maybe you're an animal lover and you do not want to get involved with people because they are heavier responsibilities than animals, maybe also you like to live in a peaceful place.

Hi -- if you are an individual who keeps to themselves, it's quite alright... if you are happier in your own company, that's YOUR business, hon.
sometimes we don't "like" people that well because of past, bad experiences, trust issues. or we could be a little social phobic as well, for no apparent reason.
everyone is quite different.
i used to have a cat i adored, and still miss him today. he WAS my BEST FRIEND!

Not at all. My 2 dogs are my best friends and every one else can bu**er off as far as I'm concerned. We chat all day, and i need no one else. You're perfectly normal dearest, as normal as me anyway!! (which is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy from normal as others may see it!!) hehehe I'm nuts really.
