If you are fully convinced that you cannot, in good conscience, observe a particular Christmas tradition - do not observe it. If you are fully convinced that a particular tradition is too steeped in paganism to honor God in any way, by all means, forsake that tradition. At the same time, if you are fully convinced that you can honor and worship God through a particular tradition - honor and worship God (Romans 14:5)! For Christians, Christmas traditions can be an important part of the celebration of the birth of our Savior, and they remind us of that momentous event that changed the world forever. More importantly, they bring to mind the miracle of new birth He created in us when He came into our hearts, saved us from our sins, and made us children of God by the shedding of His blood on the Cross (Colossians 1:20). It is this amazing truth that enables us to say with the angels, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14).

Christmas is literally "Christ Mass," a Catholic invention. Look in history.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say to celebrate the day of His birth. Rather, we are to celebrate His death and resurrection, but that NOT on a certain day either, but in EVERYTHING WE DO, EVERYDAY!
Easter is also pagan in nature, and another "holiday" that the Catholic church "baptized" and made "Christian."
No, clearly, the Bible does not teach these things. Neither does it teach a lot of what passes as Christianity nowadays.

In Christ Jesus I am set free to observe a holiday as I choose to.I worship nothing in the same spirit that a pagan would but rather in the Spirit of Christ as He would have me to observe all things. As Christians we can see the good in all things and are to look at things with a pure heart. Those who are of the world and know not the Lord cannot do this because their thoughts are not pure but evil all of the time.I leave you with these scriptures to think upon. Titus 1:15,Philippians 4:8,Colossians 2:16.

You're right. Chrismas isn't in the Bible. It is a holiday that Christians celebrate th birth of Jesus Christ. As long as we understand it's meaning then I think it's alright for us to celbrate.

The Bible acctually says not to celebrate Christmas. Just look at Jeremiah 10:1-6 '10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
10:3 For the customs of the people [are] vain: for [one] cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
10:5 They [are] upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also [is it] in them to do good.
10:6 Forasmuch as [there is] none like unto thee, O LORD; thou [art] great, and thy name [is] great in might.'
We are not supposed to do like the heathen, and cut down trees and put them in our houses and decorate them.
Also, the time around when Chirstmas is celebrated is about the time the pagans celebrated their own holiday, but it was only about sun worship because of the winter solstice. Jesus was born in early fall, not in the winter.

The bible was written a very, very long time ago by ordinary people. If you were follow the bible word for word, you would not do 99% of the things you do now. People evolve and traditions develop...don't base your life on a book written so long ago.

Let's see if I understand you correctly.... the birth of Christ is pagan in nature. Yea, right.
The Bible does not address a lot of issues. So does that mean, unless it is stated in the Bible, you had better refrain from doing it?
Nowhere in the Bible does it say you can use a computer.
Throw it out.

You would be surprised how often God's people celebrated festivals! They had annual celebrations of Passover, Purim (the celebration to commemorate the deliverance of the Jews from the plot of Haman) , they celebrated how God brought them out of bondage & captivity. There was music and dancing. They had large celebrations at wedding banquets & birthdays.
King David danced for joy....
The Christian life is full of joy and celebration. Why shouldn't we celebrate God who gave us LIFE! Christmas celebrates Jesus coming to earth. Easter celebrates Jesus being resurrected from the dead. We celebrate God!
Sing together—everyone! All you honest hearts, raise the roof!

Do you celebrate your birthday? Or other peoples birthdays? Did you need a directive to celebrate? He is the Savior of the world Celebrating his birth seems like a no brain-er so you should have no problem with it.
