Dont do that stupid soup and lettuce diet that person above mentioned, you'll crash lose several pounds and as soon as you eat normally it'll come right back in in a matter of days.

Generally speaking, all you need to do is stick to fruit, veg and lean meat is the simplest answer. There is also nothing wrong with tucking into potatoes or pasta, they're both still very healthy, just dont have ruddy great bowlfulls of it.

As its summer its a great time to be dieting since BBQ is easy.

Chuck on a chicken breast, marinade it with some sauce, and add that to a salad. Or I like getting the tesco value thin frying steak (no point in getting expensive stuff), beat the living laylights out of it with a tenderiser, chuck on some honey, mustard or peppercorns and BBQ away.

Wrap some sweetcorn in foil (add a SMALL dab of butter and pepper if you like) and eat that with the steak and some salad.

Make yourself some burgers, just get some mince, chuck it in a bowl, add an egg, some seasoning and form in burgers, leave in the fridge for an hour to set, then chuck em on.

Seriously, if your using a gas BBQ, you can cook just about anything more easily than you can in the kitchen. I use mine about 5 times a week at least.

Keep your caloric intake to 7 X the weight you want to be. Split that Caloric intake into 4 to 5 meals throughout the day to get your metabolism revving high. The more your body thinks it's going to continously get food, the better..even it's small portioned controlled meals. Eat High Fiber like Oatmeals and such early in the day, and fiber rich veggies like broccoli later in the day. Mix in portions of protein like chicken and fish and your good to go. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated and keep at it...you can do it. Oh, and for a snack, if your hungry, try pickle spears..5 calories apiece :).

avoid any carbs based foods such as potatoes, bread, pasta, rice. if you really want to have carbohydrates opt for the brown/wholemeal version.
Eat lots of chicken, fish, salads, vegetables and things like tofu.
With exercise make sure you vary the exercises and don't do the same ones everyday otherwise your body will become used to them and not burn anything off.
Try swimming and running as these are good for an all over body workout.

Hope this helps.
