They used to have the worlds tallest buildings, but no longer.
They used to have the best musicals and theater shows, but no longer.
They used to have the only real stock exchanges that counted, but no longer.
They used to have cheap shopping, but no longer.

Mmmm, I think that NYC used to be great... but no longer.

You can be anything or anyone you want to be and people will accept you. You can be a millionaire dressed up like you're homeless walking through the Gucci store and no one will look twice.
We have things that other places in the country severely lack (after I spent the last month in the south...oh god, I just wanted to come back HOME)
We have BAGELS that are the best anywhere...PIZZA that tastes WONDERFUL....not thick and oily and not cracker-thin.
We have DELIS.. a seemingly foreign concept EVERYWHERE else that allows you to NON-CORPORATELY buy any kind of sandwhich you'd ever imagine
If there is something that you always wanted...(food or otherwise) there is a store in Manhattan that will most likely have it for you.
If you find yourself bored sitting in your apartment you can usually WALK to some of the most popular museums in the WORLD...
And the lowest big-city crime rate
I don't know how people can even ASK what's so great? What isn't great about it?

Vibrancy! Doesn't seem jaded like other cities.It's inhabitants give off a vibe that they're cool cos they live in a city that 'rocks'. Go NYC. Even as America has become less popular around the world NYC is looked upon favorably by most folk.Might be cos it seems very European.Kudos for hanging together after 9/11 by the way.

With 8.4 million people, it's the most populated city in North and South America. With 22 million living in the NY Metro area, it's one of the most congested metro areas in the world. All I can say the traffic is horrible. By the way, it's also the financial capital of the world. You know moola, moola!
