A funny thing came on ESPN this morning. Barry hit 335 home runs since he turned 35, which was around 100 more than when he was in his mid 20's - considered the prime time for baseball players.
Just seemed very odd to me.
To me, Barry Bonds _was_ a good player, who didn't want to accept the fact that he had to peak.

I'm very happy for Barry. I think the guy could have done it regardless of what he may or may not have injected in his body. No one talks about all of the home runs he hit BEFORE he bulked up. Besides that, who's to say that Roger Maris and Babe Ruth didn't take some kind of performance enhancing drug or chemical? No one tracked that stuff at that time. Ruth was a drunk. Today, he would have been destroyed by the media.
It's a special accomplishment that doesn't need all of the B.S. Even with steroids, I know I couldn't do half of what he has done as an athlete.
So, he has an attitude problem; so what? At least he isn't raping young girls or being unapologetic about hosting dog fights. Bonds may not be a class act, but he's not the worst thing to happen to professional sports.
As for me being a "true" baseball fan, uh, yeah . . . don't even try and question me on that. I was practically born at a baseball stadium (not an exaggeration). I spend most of my summers watching AAA ball games. I was born and raised a Cubs fan, and despite my complete hatred for Lou Pinella, I keep coming back to the team for more punishment (current record aside). And I cannot stand "Cubs fans" in the bleachers who come to get drunk rather than watch the game. When I go to a game, I get my food before it starts, and I don't move out of my seat because I want to watch the game, not socialize.
(Don't take the tone personally. I get really worked up about this topic.)

It is NOT the same as Christians who are liberal getting accused of not being "true" Christians!!!
True baseball fans can choose to support Bonds or oppose him...BUT Christians do not have any desire to oppose the Word!
It's finally over, at long last. We can stop focusing on this tarnished star!
Congratulations to Barry Bonds for breaking he great Hank Aaron's all time M.L.B. home run record.
At that historic moment Barry Bonds raised both arms over his head like a prize fighter in victory, fists clenched and then he took off around the bases.
Like him or not, legitimate or not, he is baseball's all time home run champion. He needs an Astrix next to his record.
Congratulations" to honest Henry Aaron for doing first, without steroids, what Bonds has done with the help of Balco Laboratories today.
I also congratulate Yankee infielder Rodriguez (cheater Bonds' heir apparent) who hit his 500th career homer this week, at a younger age than any baseball player ever did!!!
Did you see the battle in the stands for the record home run ball? That dude earned his place in history as the guy who "caught" the record-breaking tater!

I'm happy for Barry Bonds. And I'm tired of hearing about how the record is "tainted" and how there's gonna be an asterisk in the record book. The guy passed the drug tests and no one has proven anything. When something can be proven, then I'll be happy to listen to people flapping their gums about steroid use.

A true Christian is someone who has gone by the Bible..when they got saved...repented...turned away from sin....been baptized in water...and received the Holy Spirit....they believe in Jesus as their Savior, that he died on the cross for their sins, and that Jesus is God incarnate..God in the flesh...who walked among men
If you can say all this is true,,,then you are a true Christian....
What part are you leaving out, to make people say you are not a true Christian?
For instance,,,Mormons don't believe Jesus was God in the flesh...they think he is a complete and separate person... and Jehovah Witness don't believe in the divine nature of Christ...they think like the Muslims do,,that he was just a prophet.....
Mr. Bonds cheated....plain and simple...McGuire cheated....they do not deserve to be in the record books... they stole the record of whoever is going by the rules and would have had that record....Baseball in this country has forever been tainted by this..No one will ever believe again in Baseball..They threw the game for money..shame on them...and if you hold these cheaters up as heros,,,shame on you....

The Bondists have been led astray by heresy, and we should pray for them. Only the Aarians who recognize the true enduring achievements of The Hank will be present for The Final Inning

their one problem with the so called true fans ,they are going to have to wait to find out about Barry bonds, but liberals have far greater issues than wether people think that they are true or not, the thing is CHRIST should always be first.

I don't really care...I don't watch much baseball(I just catch the occasional Yankees game when they're in Baltimore)
Anyway, That's different than a Christian saying another isn't a true Christian...last time I checked just because someone is better at being a Christian than someone else...that doesn't make them untrue....and I don't think you need to take steroids to be a better Christian(.....not accusing him...but we all know)

I'm not one for judging, but looking at Bonds from his days with the Pirates vs. how he looks now...the difference makes it difficult not to.
Any athlete that juices up doesn't have the spirit of the game in mind. And if I were Bonds and I achieved this while on steroids, I would have a difficult time truly enjoying it.
I'm not him, though.

Bonds is one of the reasons I haven't watched baseball in a while. There are others (Giambi, McGwire, etc.). I haven't been to a game in two years.
I think that makes me "not" a true fan.
