that wanting to have all of your gender identifying parts completely removed so that you don't have any at all is a bit strange?
I'm not talking a sx change operation, I'm talking as in complete removal so you don't have any at all.
Some said they wanted this in an answer to another question.
I think it's strange. So, am I a bad person? Am I fundamentalist because I happen to be Christian who finds this odd? Am I completely closed minded?

keep in mind, I'm not saying I would try to encourage a law to prevent this type of surgery, it's your body I suppose, do with it what you will - I'm just saying I think is weird.

Lucid - yes, I think it was your answer I saw. I'm not saying I think you are weird, nor am I waving a flag that says "Down with Sexual Change/Removal Surgeries" - I simply don't understand and as a mere human, I don't even know that I would if you explained your reasoning to me - and you of course do not have to justify to anyone, me least of all, what you wish to do with your body. I will say this, if you want to have the surgery because of something bad that has happened to you sexually, I'm sorry that you had to have such a horrible experience. I am very unforgiving of those who would choose to harm others in a sexual way as the damage it often does is irrepairable. I see the walking wounded every day - I work for a psychiatrist. One incident of sexual abuse can affect a person for the rest of their lives.

A fundamentalist, historically, is somebody who believes the fundamentals of the Christian faith: the virgin birth, expiatory death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In the false contemporary sense, a fundamentalist is someone who is trying to narrow down his beliefs in an extreme way, and condemns everyone who doesn't cross his t's or dot his i's exactly the same way. So what you are describing has nothing to do with fundamentalism, either one way or another.
EDIT:
I think Cheesus, by the way, is setting up a straw man (meaning arguing against someone who doesn't really exist).

Some Christians think it's quite acceptable to deny all sexual feelings and to behave as though they do not have any sexual parts or desires via celibacy and I find that equally odd and unnatural don't you?... What you describe and celibacy both seem to be the result of a kind of self-loathing and inability for some people to accept human nature or what they are.
However there doesn't seem to be any connection between this issue and your attitude making you a fundamentalist from the information you provided here.

What about the old choir boys and the eunuchs and stuff nobody said anything about them back then I don't want to chop off my thingy but if someone else does who cares there are other options like drugs you can take to stop urges to have sex but if its a point of no longer being judged by society by what gender you are you should be allowed to do that just hope your in your right mind first and talk about it with someone. Im christian but im not about to judge someone for doing that. AND im not saying anyone here is judgeing.

It is odd, but not unheard-of. People with major sexual conflicts often resort to what I would consider bizzare answers to intractible problems. My guess is that this person is horribly conflicted and majorly obsessed with sex---possibly fixating many of their desires on an inappropriate object, i.e. a family member or even a pet.
Thinking that it is odd for a person to want to erase his/her gender does not make you a fundy.

Not at all.
Given that you're talking about me (I say that with 99% certainty), and I get similar responses from most people I mention it to..... all it implies is that you are completely and utterly normal.
You have nothing to worry about...... (besides perhaps your reasoning capabilities).
If it puts you at ease any.... I want to become an androgyne to reduce the control of my instinct over my body.... I do not wish to have sexual desires any more of any sort, and figure that removing the parts through which they are enacted would help.
That and the fact that I don't like being identified through gender-based stereotypes, when personally I do not identify myself by my body's gender.
There.... does that clear things up?
[Edit]: Boxer :~ I'm British. "America" can be as tolerant or intolerant as it likes, but it doesn't matter a shred to me what you yanks do as I have nothing to do with your country.
As for the rest of you folks with your high-and-mighty sexually binomial supremacist opinions... you can shove them up yer respective ar5es.

I don't think you're a bad person for thinking it's strange.. I'm not a Christian but I don't understand people wanting to do it either. I don't know what it has to do with religion, though. Maybe it was your response to the person's question that made them call you a fundamentalist (I'm not sure what you said).

I think a fundamentalist Christian is someone who leads their life according to the New Testament literally. This really doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you are a fundamentalist. It is a fact that this is not usual and you are not a bad person for finding it odd.

You're not a fundamentalist. You're psychologically healthy. The person who said that is probably not, and should likely seek a bit of help. If they seek to destroy any vestige of sexual discrimination they likely (and this is just arm chair psychiatry, and could be wildly off base) have suffered some damage or abuse in the past related to sex or a personal violation.

Probably it doesn't have much to do with your religion. Likely as not people of both genders and all spiritual and religious paths will find the concept a bit disturbing.
