Looking away unto Jesus the Author and Perfector of our Faith.
It all comes i believe brother from beginning each day with time in the Lord's presence. By feeding and being nourished inwardly in the word and in prayer. Knowing that each day is in His soverign hands. Only the Lord can truly keep us. He is our Good Shepherd going before us and our forerunner paving the way for us to follow.
I guess for me the best way to know if i am out of focus is whether i have the Lord's presence in all that we do. If i do not have this then i know that something is OFF with me and i need to return to Him.
" and the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and Grace"

Many things - Reading the Bible, going to church, prayer, hanging with Christian friends. I have to keep my mind focused on Christ Jesus a lot of the time. These things help me during my daily walk with God. Blessings to your dear one.

I devote myself steadfastly in the word, in worship and prayer, in fellowship and in taking Communion (Acts 2:42). I also keep my eyes on Jesus as the author and finisher of my faith (Hebrews 12:2).

I find leading an angry mob through my town looking for witches and heathens once a week keeps me pretty focused. I mean, making the torches and sharpening my pitchforks throughout the week takes up a lot of my time, so I don't have many interruptions in my faith, like TV and "School".

“And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus ; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed” (Acts 19:16-20).

When I get worried or lost--I just give it to God.
I try to do as He wishes. When I'm around people that aren't Christian-like, I say to myself that it's between them and God.
I pray a lot.
