I like the type of emo/skater look but my dad really despises them & im only 13 so its not like i can do what ever i want. I dont what to do..advice?

That you are attracted to people that really upset your dad isn't suprising at all. I would guess that weather you realize it or not, you are attempting to prove your maturity and independence by making your own choices. Maybe take a minute and think about how you are actually making your choices in guys. And then accept that if your dad is anything like mine, no guy will ever be good enough for you.

Invite them over to meet your parents (dinner, etc) so that you dad can get an idea of who this person really is. He's making assumptions based on his experiences in life rather than realizing that he really has no knowledge of who they are. Give you parents an opportunity to know the boys your interested in dating. Then when they say something about someone, it'll be based off of having met them. Also, your thirteen which is young (especially for us old people) and your parents aren't going to be happy with the idea of you liking guys in any way shape or form. This will continue until your married so find a way to deal. Good luck !!!!

Father's only see guys as after their daughters for one thing. Your best bet is to introduce your male friends to your dad, and let him get to know your male friend. If I was your dad, I'd probably tell him that my daughter was a virgin, and I expected her to returned in the same condition, and at age 13 would expect group dates with a number of teenagers hanging out, going to the movies, buying fast food, or whatever.
If you build up trust with your father now that you are just looking for fun with people of your own age, and don't get into drugs, sex, or alcohol, you will get more trust in the future. Introducing your male friends to your father will help a great deal. Trust me.

Dad always love their daughter very much and sometimes they become over protective because your dad loves you...It is difficult to see you with guys because he is scare of losing you in a way.....Ask him why he doesn't like skaters and ask him if he ever skates before!

I'm fourteen and my dad hates annoy I date. He won't interfere unless they are pierced, tattooed, or any other race (he is a big racist).
There isn't anything you can do really. Talk to your dad and say this look is a common look and there are some good people who wear it.
Although, I wouldn't expect your dad will let you wear it any time soon.

Dads will never like the type of guys their daughters like. So just get used to it and like whomever you want.

hmmm hes just being a father lol. tell him that just because they look or are a certain way doesn't mean that they are bad and you don't have to like them. Maybe you'll get lucky and get to go out on a date even though he doesn't like them.

i like those type of guys too and i had that problem also...........i just date them anyway, its not like my dad can tell me who to date

you are a child, you'll grow out of it... then your father will probably hate ANY guys you like...
fathers prerogative to be protective of his little girl!! :D
