Limewire will be fine on your computer - it is always wise to have a good anti-virus installed. Good luck :-)

Your computer is not likely to be harmed by simply installing limewire although it may slow down the computer a bit as limewire always runs in the background.

However, whenever you download something through limewire, be sure to scan it before opening it as the person whom you downloaded it from could have put a virus in it.

The limewire program itself will not harm your computer. But Limewire is normally used to download other files and programs. Those files may be infected with virsus, spyware, etc., which could harm your computer.

Plus, since Limewire can be given away for free by anyone, there have been people who have infected the Limewire program itself and then offered it for free to others.

No. Just make sure you read the installation software properly instead of just clicking through it. If it asks if you wish to install a third party software say no.
I know Kazaa comes with Lop.com rubbish which most spyware and anti-virus programs can't get rid of.
I believe Limewire may have this bundled in aswell but you do have an option to not install it.

Installing Limewire cause no problem.

However, the things you dowload might cause problems. Try and be careful what you download. Get stuff that has high ratings anbd run it through virus checkers first.

Safest way is to buy music legally.

just make sure you have good security settings, an anti-virus programme is a must if you download limewire. I've been downloading from them for quite a while now, and have had no problems as yet.

limewire is a good open sharing network, but with all of these type programs there are risks, hackers abound within this framework, try to avoid files that seem to small as often these are spam or re-direction to a website. preview files before they are finished this will give you an idea whether it's legit or not. use your anti-virus to scan files and anything with extra attachments should be deleted. be watchful of messenger programs as they will use these programs, good luck.
