Try as you might but you cannot change someone. You may change someone for a while but they will quickly resent you for it and go back to their old ways. People will only change when they are ready to and want to. Remember, old habits die hard. Don't try to change anyone. If you cannot accept them for who they are then it is time to move on.

Yes you can and no you can't.
yes you can if you have the skills and abilities to persuade, to have tactful and diplomatic way, you can if you possess strong character and excellent interpersonal skills.
However, you can't if the person is strong minded, resentful and is not willing to co-operate, if the person need special attention and is not able to take on board new ideas.
change is frightening experience and most scientist believe that transaction from one stage to another have to pass through painful experience.
so change human being in style and smooth manner and make them feel comfortable with their new situations rather than sending massage to them in form of military style: change or else!!!!!!
hope this attempt to answer your question is somehow OK without influencing or changing your opinion that you hold.
by for now

You can't change a person...you can cover up the way the person is but deep down they will always be the same..you have to accept or move on!

No, you cannot change someone. If you get into a relationship/marriage and think that you can change him so it will work, you are wrong. People don't change unless they want to.

If there are that many things you want to change about a person then maybe you shouldn't be with that person. You are supposed to love them for who they are not what they could be.

No. And frankly, you can't change them even if they wanted to.
If people change, it's by their own choice.
To try and intentionally change someone is manipulative at the very least.

Absolutely not. Some people may play along to get what they want initially, especially in a relationship. Once they have achieved that, their true nature is revealed.

you have to except a person for who he or she is, and not what you want them to be. We are all unique, if a person feels the ned to change he/she will. Who are we to tell someone else they have to change,, the proper response to that will be,, "Then You Change, Whyshould I".

We can't change ourselves even when we desire. There is no way unless we use cattle prodders like they have used on special education students to change their behaviors. Do you have one? If not forgetabouti!

No, you can do things to help them see the error of their ways, but I believe change comes from within.
