Judges 19:24-25 "Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go."
Judges 19 describe a father who offers his virgin daughter to a drunken mob. When the father says "unto this man do not so vile a thing," he makes clear that sexual abuse should never befall a man (meaning him), yet a woman, even his own flesh and blood, or a concubine belonging to a perfect stranger, can receive punishment from men to do what they wish. This attitude against women still persists to this day and we have the Bible, in large part, to thank for this attitude against women.

Instances such as this in Bible occur...they would be conspicuous by their absence otherwise. Acts that are repulsive to us now as we read them but yet we watch the exact same crap on the news every night and write fiction and make movies about it and still blame God and say that God condones this or that. People back in Biblical times were just as horrible and stupid as they are now...yet, just because an account of that horrid act is written in scripture does not follow that God commanded it nor did He condone it. Israel at the time was without a leader and crime even in the 12 tribal towns due to pagan worship abounded. What this man did was wrong. That it wasn't written as an account that "hid" his wrong doing or that this passage wasn't deleted somehow over the centuries does nothing but show the authenticity of the Bible. No where does this passage indicate that what happened to the woman was acceptable...the horror of the Israelites shows that this was not acceptable and that they waged war against the sons of Beliel who were wicked because of what this woman suffered...had they known the full truth..the Levite man would not have been spared for his part either because the laws regarding such atrocities called for the death penalty. No, the bible does not advocate gang rape or rape of any kind just because it is recorded in the bible. This is what God says about such things as infidelity and rape which is also recorded in the bible. Under the Mosaic law (before Christ paid the penalty of sin) this was punishable by death:

Deuteronomy 22:22 - If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

Deuteronomy 22:25 - But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her (rape her): then the man only that lay with her shall die.

No such person shall enter the Kingdom of God -

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

No, you're common sense should tell you that this is not condoned by this sacred writ. It is a stretch to interpret this text in such a way to say that the Scripture advocates this activity. It is the selfish, dark and wicked nature of man that condones, advocates and perpetuates attitudes and crimes like these. In the context of this entire passage you will see that this community was, predominately, a wicked and violent culture. It is important to understand that, as far as I can see, the Scriptures are brutally honest about human nature, human flaws and weakness. This is not a text that is condoning or advocating this behavior, it is merely revealing what occured, much like a news report or a historical event.

We have the bible and Christians to thank for the earliest form of degredation against women. If you watch the Da Vinci Code, you'll notice something that is actually true once you do your research...the church was supposed to be carried on by a women, but not just any woman, the wife of Jesus...the early church didnt hold with the idea of equality with women, so they smeared her as a whore, and made the changes to the bible so that men would rule the church, and you see in our own history that it wasnt until in the last 100 years that women received equal rights....so put that in your pipe and smoke it....

PS: Chrisitians, if this isnt true....where are all of the women pastors? why are there always more men in leadership roles?

He was sacrificing his daughters to protect the two angels. He certainly did not want to do this but considered the angels as more 'valuable' than his loved daughters.
The bible does not 'advocate' rape like this but is telling the story to show how Lot respected God, by protecting his representatives. Not that angels need protecting.
As it turned out, the girls were not molested because the angels rendered all that mob totally blind. From then on they were incapable.
Footnote; a single angel killed 185,000 Assyrian troops in one night. But Lot was not so presumptuous as to depend on this type of reaction.
(Isaiah 37:36) And the angel of Jehovah proceeded to go forth and strike down a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp of the As·syr′i·ans. When people rose up early in the morning, why, there all of them were dead carcasses.

Some other versus taken out of context by someone with an agenda. To get the real story one must read all of Judges 19 & 20. These verses had nothing to do with what Islam preacher Asif Sheikh aka. "Punter" is trying to portray. This question coming from a man whose religion thinks of women as animals lower than even cattle. Good try Punter, keep working on your agenda.

According to verse 22, the atrocity was committed by "certain sons of Belial." Belial can be translated as -

1) worthlessness

a) worthless, good for nothing, unprofitable, base fellow

b) wicked

c) ruin, destruction (construct)

So we are talking about "sons of the devil" who did such a terrible thing. The Bible is teaching that gang rape is evil, a crime, and a work of the devil.

That was a decision made by some dude, not God.

Maby you don't know about the passages in Bible speaking about the woman representing the church and how men should treat/love women, the way God treats/loves the Church.

No where do you find that the Bible advocates such disgusting behavior.

Rape is a sin subject to the greatest of punishments, but is easily overlooked and forgiven if the victim is:
“And when the Lord thy God hath delivered [a city] into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: But the women…shalt thou take unto thyself” (Deuteronomy 20:13-14). “And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all remeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him” (Leviticus 19:20-22). “If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found: Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife” (Deuteronomy 22:28-29).

I really think that the old testament and new testament should be separate books (it is like sewing new cloth onto old cloth) The old testament should be X rated for verbal pornography and advocating violence towards women. It is a prejudiced and sexist book. It has done irreparable harm to women throughout the ages.
