No efforts for a good cause goes in vain. As Allama Iqbal beautifully describes this situation: "O' you Muslims, you will not perish if Iran or the Arabs perish, that the spirit of the wine is not dependent on the nature of it's container." The container is our nations, our boundaries and the spirit of Islam is not dependent on our geographical boundaries or national limitations

Here is a transcript of a speech By Shaykh Ahmad Deedat, who is a world renowned scholar (Sunni) whom we all respect, from South Africa was made following his trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran on 3 March , 1982. http://www.inminds.co.uk/unity.html

I, myself follows Scholars of Ahlu Sunna but we have to understand one another. You see Iran was a good nation before Islamic revolution in the eyes of many Arab leaders and the west. When it became an Islamic republic, many don't like it. Satan deslike it. West delike it. So someone when follows a Satanic way is ok for many but when Islam is applied eventhough with slight differances, many finds it hard to accept their good. Yes, we have to break this wall and understand one another and follow the verse of the Quran: "Help ye one another in righteousness and piety but help ye not one another in sin and transgression".

1. Yes i do think muslims can unite. 2. It will definitely take ALOT of work, since we need to educate the illiterate (as maria said) and eliminate the ignorance going on, within & outside our religion. We need to try our best to eliminate fundamentalist beliefs and speak out against injustice. 3. I hope we do unite. The Christians had a dark age as well, and after that came the Renaissance period. Maybe after all this chaos, Islam will blossom even more..

Divide and rule is the famous slogan of who? Not Muslims. Guess who sent their troops in Iraq. Guess who took the drivers licenses of young people for checking, asked them to come to an army base where bombs were planted in their bombs while they waited to get back the drivers licenses. When the bomb was planted in their truck or car, they were told to go to so and so police station to collect their license based on analysis the bombs would create the maximum strife between the Shia and Sunni. The poor young people did not know that they were being turned into "suicide" bombers at random without their consent or knowledge, and were being sent to an area of convenience, in the name of getting their license from a neighborhood police station, where agents were waiting with remotes to blow their car or truck when they arrived at the right place. This was the basis of the Shia Sunni divide that was created in Iraq. (Check out www.globalresearch.ca and do a search for agent provocateurs). There are indeed some real suicide bombers as well, but they were far and few.

A man who was bringing his tomatos to the market was stopped and a bomb was planted in his truck. Fortunately his eleven year old saw that happen and warned his dad. Who discovered the bomb and disposed it off in a ditch (a man and a couple of goats got killed, instead of mayhem in the market that was planned). If the little boy had not found out, then they would be called "suicide bombers" by the World news media.

It is total desperation that is causing such brutal acts of inhumanity and targetting of the innocent in cold blood to divide Muslims. I hope Muslims learn from these and act to unify so that they may not be misused under the disguise of sects, national, economic or social stratification.

May the Lord divide the families of those who attack the innocent in cold blood on any and all sides. Amen.

Excellent reassurance...
One of the achievements I have had with the tiny community here in Y!A is the realization that we as muslims have it in our heart to unite as one again... While there had been a few who constantly feuded with us, It would not take us long to realize almighty God's message.
While our dream hasnt come true (yet), I have certainly realized what I had thought impossible once had turned out to be one of the very possible realities. Something I am willing to give it all.

and...

The friends shall on that day be enemies to one another except those who guard [against evil].

Holy Quran

Anyone who looks for a friend without fault will remain without a friend. Do you not see that the first mark of honour which God bestowed on His Prophets when their call to faith became known was a trusty friend or helper. This is proof that, after knowledge of God, there is no blessing in either abode which is more sublime, more excellent or more pure than company in God and brotherhood for His sake.

The Holy Prophet said that his Lord commanded him to have these qualities, saying, 'Unite with whoever breaks with you, and pardon whoever wrongs you; give to whoever deprives you, and be good to whoever is bad to you.' He commanded us to follow him when God said:

"Whatever the Messenger gives you, accept it, and from whatever he forbids you, keep back. "

Holy Quran

And you have not gone unnoticed my dear brother in Islam!!

I think so...
Here, as far as I can see, Muslims are more religious (in Y!A). I wish Christians here are the same...who will do anything for their religion. I wish Christians will also be united in this WHOLE WORLD and eliminate our enemies who wish to wipe us out. It is just that majority of Christians dont really know the true power of Christianity and so, loses faith.

Thank you Lawrence and all other Muslim men & women who are trying their best to show the world the real truth of our lovely religion, Islam. May Allah reward us all for this effort, and all must bear in mind that this is not charity, we Muslims are obliged to do so, and this may be the only way for the Muslim Nation to be as strong as it was before.
