hey

i had a leak from my boiler a while ago now & put in a claim for insurance. they have said they will cover this & are getting the work settled for me. since putting in the claim i have noticed that the leak had gone into one of my main storage cupboards & damaged a load of my stuff, since putting in this extra claim they are now saying they will put a loss adjuster on my case - what does this mean??

IT means, they're going to assess the cost to repair the damage.

The boiler they agreed to pay, because you had it fixed under an emergency. Now, the rest of the stuff (consequential damages) they just need to verify what was damaged and that it reasonably could have been damaged by the leak. They also need to know how much to fix. Hard to do that unless they take a look

Because that is their job - you got by before, but not now.
