Ok, I'm normally a fresh veggi eater but recently I've been a bit lazy and turned to frozen veggies. Which one is better? Fresh veggies, or frozen?

Alot of it comes downs to how you cook them. If you boil the crap out of veggis you are loosing nutrients. But hey, at least you are eating your veggis and haven't stooped to takeaways! Well done you!

I used to go with either one, though I would often find frozen vegetables to be cheaper than "fresh". While I grew up on a lot of canned vegetables, I cultivated a taste for the frozen over the canned and would buy the frozen. For me, frozen is the best price wise as well. I know I'm getting better stuff.

However, finding this article ( http://www.lifetimefitness.com/magazine/index.cfm?strWebAction=article_detail&intArticleId=527 ) cemented my decision to continue to by frozen. When my child(ren) (I'm pregnant with my husband's and my first) get older, I'll probably keep canned in the pantry as back up, but not for every day consumption.

I will buy "fresh" if I have an idea of its source and the duration of when it was picked from when I purchase it. That's why I like farmer's markets. Sometimes the prices are a bit higher than the grocery store (like six ears of corn for $2 at the farmer's market as opposed to eight ears for $2 at the grocery store), but the taste and the nutrients and the overall goodness is worth it. Also, the farmer's market is better because I'm supporting local business, not some company who is more interested in profits than production.

Also, I steam my veggies, fresh or frozen, as it retains more nutrients than boiling them. However, I do, on occasion, get the water boiling and put the veggies in long enough to get warm/thawed.

Anyway, this is just my opinion and what I do.
