Pay attention to detail, that means following instructions to a T and don't add to them. Keep your mouth shut even if you don't like whats being told to you. Be flexible, willing to do about anything, take it seriously but not to the point it causes you to be depressed especially when others actions causes you pain, it will happen daily. The Navy focuses on attention to detail and teamwork and the associated consequences for failure of each. Expect early mornings, late evenings, constant physical activity, and lots of seemingly meaningless tasks. Welcome aboard and do your very best, it will be worth it.

Well, your first day of boot camp you'll probably be wondering just what you got yourself into. :) Just hang in there. After boot camp the Navy is a lot like a regular job.
You will be put under physical and mental stress. Don't let the mind games freak you out. Just stand at attention and take it when your company commander gets in your face and yells.
Like the other guy said, pay attention to detail. You will be shown how they want your clothes folded for example. Fold them exactly that way.

Plan to listen and keep your mouth shut. Hope you get into a 900 division like my husband and its not nearly as bad because all they do is service stuff, but you usually have to score really high on the placement test to get into it. Dont plan on calling anyone or doing anything besides navy stuff for the first few weeks. I didnt hear from my husband for the first three weeks I think.

The best advice is pay attention to detail and follow instructions to the letter! 8 weeks will seem like forever at times, but it's only 8 weeks (unless you get ASMO'ed!) Pay attention, stay awake in class, do well in your tests, and you'll be fine.
Best preparation is PT. Especially push ups, body builders, and sit ups.
Good luck, and we'll see you when you get out!
Fair wind and following seas!

Boot camp mean seem hard at first, but it's not.
Attention to detail is the main thing. All the stuff that they make you do may seem silly, but it is done so you learn attention to detail. If you do the small things right, the big things take care of themselves.

Do what you're told and only what you are told, do it fast, do it right, and be loud. If you haven't already prepared it is too late but you should do fine just the same.
