In the Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42 verses Christ was not teaching
that tithing was required by the New Testament, but rather was just
re-enforcing that this was a requirement under the Old Covenant!
----------------------------
Romans 4:12 we are to walk in the footsteps of the faith of Abraham. If tithing was good for him, it should be good for us, too.

Hello! I found tithe appears in 7 different verses in the New Testament and not just 1 verse? See below.
Matthew 23:23 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Luke 11:42 - But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Luke 18:12 - I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
Hebrews 7:5 - And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:
Hebrews 7:6 - But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
Hebrews 7:8 - And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
Hebrews 7:9 - And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

The word "tithe" is mentioned eight [8] times in the New Testament. I cannot guess which of them is the only one you know of...
Peace be with you.

Matt 23:23 and Luke 11:42.
However, tithing is between one and God. This is the only spiritual obedience that cannot be faked. : )

Luke 11:42 “But how terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income,£ but you completely forget about justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things.
Matthew 23:23 “How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income,£ but you ignore the important things of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things.

Couple people citing I Corinthians 16...
Also, check Luke 18:12, though the context is in question.
It's in there a lot more than you thought.
